I really wish Epic Games would add a practice mode ASAP so new players have a chance to practice things like those you talk about in your "How to win" series. Telling people to go practice editing, building, speed building or even combat by just repeatedly getting owned in seconds in actual games just doesn't work and it's harmful to the game and it's chances of growing and surviving when new players just end up quitting and thus not becoming paying customers. What people who've played the game for a while seem to forget is that when they started playing the average player was much worse than they are today, even the top players were worse since they've had months worth of practice since then. The "original" Fortnite players started in a time where the game was full of other newbies, new players today don't. They can't practice their building or their editing etc. when they can't survive 30 seconds on the ground so most just give up and find something else to play instead. You see the same in games like World of Tanks etc. where the game is just bleeding players because most of the potential new players just give up when they get repeatedly owned by more experienced players while they're still trying to learn the game and the mechanics. For every 10 experienced players who quit the game, maybe 2 new players stick with it and end up as actual paying customers, that's not sustainable for any game in the long run, it will eventually lead to its death. It's obviously in the interest of everyone who enjoys playing a game to make the game as appealing as possible to new players as that's what determines its sustainability and longevity. The good veteran players need targets after all, they don't want 30 minute queues because the game is lacking players. The game really needs a "sandbox" (maybe just an offline mode run by the client) where new players can go fuck around with endless building materials, can shoot at random moving objects etc. and maybe even with some sort of small basic tutorial explaining how things work.

In the end, why do you build your tower at the center of the circle? As a noob its easier to have a tower at an edge so all the enemies are in one direction, whereas in the center people can attack you from all 360 degrees. In addition, how do you handle the situation where your tower is in the middle but multiple people “team” to take you down
