How to beat tug of war u need the strongest person at the back and the good leader in front evereybody else is in the middle when the game starts dont pull just hold the string as hard as u can and lean back like ur laying down the other team will start to slip and the leader says to pull and u all pull if they are getting back and ur losing run towards them a little and they will all fall andd start pulling again

As a person who is really good at tug of war ive beaten alot of people and even 2 high schoolers! my advice is to always let your oppenent pull first then try to grip yiur feet so you wont lose balance! then pull as hard as you can try not to think alot just do! Hope this helped 😊💞 - a 13 year old

@@ruler9722 sure ofc you need something to grip on,it depends on what platform ur on. if it’s a soft and smooth DONT wear stocks just go bare foot, if it’s grass or rough wear shoes that grip🤭

This is hard soil (i.e. no dug line) so technically they should be using the same muscle group as in the indoor TOW matches. I don't think that side-stepping helps here..

I clicked on the vid because once a year my school has a tug of war competition and I rlly want to get better before the next one! Edit: we came second again, it was good fun tho and it was on the second to last day of school (I’m a year 8 and am going to high school this year 💔)

Warning, essay beneath. Theres a summary to the strategy at the end. as a person who has basically never lost tug of war at school championships held every 3 months, the best way to win tug of war is to hold the rope tightly and anchor your feet to the ground. After you've anchored your feet to the ground, you want to then hold the rope and wait for the team to try to pull the rope. After 10 seconds have passed or however long you want to wait for the team to get exhausted, pull as hard as you physically can. A good indication of knowing if you pulled hard enough is if the rope snaps or the opposing team getting pushed forward/into the ground. Afterwards, pull the rope in 2-3 second periods of waiting inbetween each pull till the team loses. This is insanely effective because you will have conserved most of your energy while the opposing team isnt and the unexpected sharp pull will most likely lung them forward or onto the ground because they arent ready for it + it has a lot of force to it. Whats nice about this strategy aside from the fact that its easy to pull off is that if your opponents team gets lunged forward they have to waste precious time to rearrange themselves and grip back onto the ground and rope, this basically makes it so that if a considerable amount of them fall or trip your team is guaranteed to win summary: hold the rope for 10 seconds for your opposing team to get exhausted then pull as hard as you can in 2-3 second intervals till they trip or fall.
