30-12=18 If we don't count the last round since none is netted, he won 10 hero powers out of 12. 12 gold was spent and for each win he gained 3 gold. Therefore the equation would look like this. (3 x W) - (X) = N 3 times the total wins is 30, minus X number of times attempted being 12, equals 18. Edit: 18/30 and 12/30 give the percentiles of a 40% cost to gain a 60% benefit. This means even by winning so much gold, if you guess incorrectly more than 1/3rd the time or less, the hero power gives little benefit. As winning 2/3rd guesses would give you double the money spent as shown below. (3 x 8) - 12 = 12 Anything less than doubling investment would be fairly mediocre, in my opinion. So you would really have to pay attention with this Hero to make him work, as guessing has a 50% chance of working out. 50% to the power of 12 (sample size) multiplied by 8 is 0.2% chance of guessing a 2/3rd win rate.

@@runtergerutscht4401 kind of but you also need to pay attention to the flow of the game, other players composition and maybe calculating some rough probability. The skill ceiling is pretty high. Sure it will always seem like 50/50 at face value because of the inherent two options only but undertanding the winrates of cards will improve the odds of getting it right significantly

Makes it significantly better in the hands of a skilled player. Instead of "ok, let me collect a 2 gold tax every few rounds by throwing," it becomes "OK, i know these 2 guys. This hero should be stronger based on what I know about them." And based on the result you can say "OK, this person is stronger/weaker than I thought. I can say this about their board."

Bartendotron... max net gain 5 gold. This hero was 4x stronger than bartendotron this game. New forest warden guy... max gold gain of 10g. This hero was 2x as strong this game. Lich baz... if you tap every single turn and never lose a fight (perfect game) will net you 19g. This hero was stronger than a perfect lich baz game. If played with the right amount of luck and skill this new hero is more free gold than even old hooktusk. That one is much harder to calculate but the extra minions and tempo from the free tokens is what made him broken S tier and I dont even know if that compares. If you hit your bets, this hero is insane.

It only does that when there are only 3 players alive to prevent betting on your own outcome, which you can only do if you are the last battle remaining. In that case 2 gold isnt that relevant anymore, and its not a garanty that the dead player will lose.
