How do you know what is the max battery it can handle like 8s or 6s

What's the name of that quad? I have the same one but bought it from someone online so I don't know and can't find it on any web site?

I tried do use the same wire and turns as the original (12 strands of 0.3mm and 9 turns) and just can't fit within the available space.... Then I changed to 3 strands of 0.6mm wire (same area) but also could not fit the same 9 turns. The maximum I can achieve is 8 turns....... Even with tedious and very careful winding, folding the wire each leg. Tried with all strands together and even by winding each strand isolated to better packing ..... Still impossible for me to rewind a motor with the same turns/wire area as the original (a Multiplex BL-O 3420-0630).

Very informative video Pawel . Nice job . Yesterday I burned 3 of the 4 motors of my quad . Today I opened one of them to see if it was possible to rewire it. The motor is 2807 1300KV in delta connection . Each coil has 10 turns but id was made from 6 individual 0.3mm wires in parallel . In a comment you answered ( 4 years ago ) , that it does not mater if we put many thin wires or a thicker one . Why they put multiple wires instead of one thicker ? Is there any benefit in multiple wires ? If no , why they made it harder to produce it ? Thanks in advance

hey Pavel, thanks for those tutorials ! I Have a question about windings. Might look like a silly question but I'm wondering... I guess the 3 phases have to be isolated from each other, right ? I mean, Phase A can't touch phase B anywhere in the motor ? or this don't change anything ?

Hi Paweł, did you get around measuring the Kv? Also, small correction: winded means exhausted. The past tense of wind is wound.

How would double winding affect the KV? I mean to have double wires going parallel on each coil. Or it's about the thickness of the wire? Also recently I saw a video on YT showing that low kv motor (like 1350kv) and 6S LiPo can be a beast.

Winding with 2 thiner wires in parallel is the same as winding one thicker with the same number of turns. Of copurse is total wire are is the same. If you want lower KV just just have to put more turns in "serial". And that usually means you have to use thiner wire

Thanks for the info. And one more additional question, what is the polish name for the wire that is used for rewinding?

@Szczypior: Or you can use Y-termination to get a lower Kv.

Well, you actually ended with 5s or 6s motor. Test it on 6s and a 5" triblade prop. The watts will be way way higher ;)

hahahah when you acknowledge the max current and start laughing hahaha congrats btw! edit. try to mount a bigger propeller.. like a 6040 :)

Hi, I have 5 kits of the exact same motor as you show here. I used the included 0.5 mm wire to test wind one with 15 turns: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2909465-DYS1104-motor-rewind-for-higher-Kv/page5#post38926230 After measuring the Kv of this motor to be around 2200 I decided to wind the remaining motors using 13 turns yielding a Kv of about 2600: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2909465-DYS1104-motor-rewind-for-higher-Kv/page6#post38984894 After seeing your video I measured the power of one of them when driving a 5x4x3 prop: 15.48A @ 10.97V so about 170W.

Thank you so much for those links! I'm wondering if I'd be able to rewind RS1106 Emax that have been broken by the too long screw :/ If you happen to have any idea what fi of the wire should I use or how many turns I should aim for that would be great :) I think I'm aiming for 6000kv but have no idea what kind of the wire lenghts I would need per 1 motor (I don't want to buy hundreds of metters of the wire just to wind 4 motors)..
