Just a heads up, according to the manual the ice line shout NOT have anti freeze run through it. They state to simply shut it off and open up the outside drain spot outside under the slide. This will avoid your first few batches of ice having antifreeze in them.

Instruction manual from Keystone specifically says DO NOT put antifreeze in icemaker.

I had an issue with the inlet and just bypassed it to the back where the pump is located. YOu can just pull off the line and insert an adapter line and will go straight to the jug as well.

Loved the video. Thanks so much for posting winterizing a newer model. Learned a couple new things about the ice maker. I do wish you would have shown the antifreeze hook up. We have a 2018 and found that we had to pull the screen from the inlet in order for the pump to pull the antifreeze from the jug. Showing the process to completion would have been just that much better. Again thanks!

I'm glad to help!! Now that you mention it I have heard that as well about the screen. The reason we did not show pumping anti freeze through is because we never fill the lines with antifreeze. We hook air to it and blow all of the lines out then dump small amount antifreeze in pea traps and toilets. Its quicker and a cleaner process when it comes time to using your camper the next season.

Maybe I should shoot a video of us doing that? Would that be something of interest to you? You can buy the air hose kit on amazon for roughly 35$ you'll want to regulate the air no more than 50psi

Team Montana we would love that. We have an on board compressor and air tank in our truck and want to start winterizing that way

@@TeamMontanaRvsales Have you uploaded another video explaining showing step by step how to winterize with compressed air? Particularly how this works with ice maker in fridge? We have a new Montana HC 351BH, and I'm winterizing for the first time and want to make sure it gets done right. thanks.

@@TeamMontanaRvsales I don’t have an electric pump to do that with my antifreeze. How can or should I say will it be OK to just run and pour antifreeze down the sinks bathtub and toilet after draining all my waterlines?

Great video, thank you. We just purchased a 2019 Montana 3931fb, and we are going to live in it all this winter. My concern is using the ice maker since the supply line is exposed outside. How would I safely blow out that particular line, and not use the ice maker for the winter ? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Do you winterize the fresh tank power fill and black tank flush connections?

Thanks for your post. We recently bought a 2018 Montana High Country model 375FL, with a refrigerator / freezer identical to that in your video. The unit will be located permanently at a lakeside RV park, where we normally don’t use the water for drinking. Thus, we will not be using the ice maker, and also will keep in the “off” position. If I just locate the water valve in the nearby cabinet and leave it in the off position, when I winterize using compressed air to blow out lines, then pump in antifreeze until I see pink in my low point drains and faucets, will that be sufficient to clear any water up to the water input valve for the ice maker? Hope I’ve not confused you...!

So doing this winterized system is only if the rv is going to be stored or not in used am I correct?

Why does mine doesn’t suck the antifreeze? Great video by the way

May need to hold the jug higher than the spigot so that gravity will feed the antifreeze in. Hope this helps!

I assume this Winterizing is if you are not going to live in the RV during the Winter.

When adding antifreeze does the water switch go to "normal flow" or "fill". Thanks.
@TeamMontanaRvsales4 жыл бұрын
Normal flow. Fill will go to your fresh water tank
@Bobby1004 жыл бұрын
Thanks! On mine nothing seemed to happen unless I switched to fill. I was then able to get antifreeze through each faucet, the toilet, the shower, the outside shower and the black tank flush. I also had pink antifreeze come out the low point drains. That is what prompted my question. Wierd.

First you say shut off the hot water tank master electric switch and then you say turn it on. Confusing! Also, why not open the hot water tank pressure relief valve and leave it open? Your hot H2o tank will drain much quicker.!!

You could have done a better job! Keystone must have the ice valve behind the cabinet accessible

That's a real safety hazard putting 50amp electrical connection underneath the water heater with water running down into it.

I did notice this as well. Definitely would encourage to have the power cord wrapped up with the door closed.
