For all the questions, 99% of the time black to black red to red. Like i said in the video on AN LED LIGHT STRIP, the color of the light is determined by the negative wire.

So you connected a ground wire from battery to the pos of accessory? Im trying to wire LED headlight on old motorbike and new switches. Each handlebar switch has 3 buttons and from each button comes 2 identical coloured wires: button 1 has 2 black wires, , button 2 has 2 blu wires and button 3 has two red wires. Thats a 20 amp toggle switch and that LED strip is probably 1 amp.
