Lou, u are very quick at learning these new things, u seem like a natural. Did u say ud done another van before this? But no vids? Ur manner is very nice, always calm and think thinks through. Well done. Wish there would have been you tube when I was ur age.what is Emily's interest apart from checking u every now and again?? 😂

Emily's interest peaks when we start adding soft furnishings lol! And yeh, I have done another van before, but nowhere near as complex as this one, it didn't even have electrics lol! Thank you so much 😁👍

I started in electronics in 1971 and I've rearely seen wiring done to such a high standard. Well done. My only suggestion is a pair of long-nose pliers would have made getting the crimps into the shells a lot easier :-)

I didn’t think I was going to like them at the back but it definitely works on the cladding... however, the “help” must surely be on a final written warning by now! 😂

Thanks Bruce. I was the same actually and wasn't sure but they turned out OK. The "help" has been on a final written warning for years, in fact I had to sack her several times, trouble is, she makes really good sandwiches so I usually take her back! 🤣

Those switches are so much nicer than all those horrible plastic ones! Where did you get them, and what should I search to find something similar? I can only see the horrid black plastic!
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jack, we got them from a company called 12v planet, if you go to their website and search toggle switch they should come up.

how did you wire the 2 ac sockets? Are they all on your shore power or are some on the inverter? I'm trying to figure out how to wire the sockets from an inverter if I need a consumer unit between the inverter and the socket or not and what amps the rcd's should be and how you wire multiple ac sockets together in series or parallel. :/
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, my ac sockets are shore power only, I've literally put them in as a just in case as we are mostly off grid. We don't have an inverter as we've found ways to run almost everything on 12v. Sorry I can't be of more help but I have no experience of wiring in an inverter. Thanks so much for watching 😁👍

Hi ! Loved the video. Would you have the links to these flat lamps? Could be really useful for our own van conversion :) Thanks

Hi fanny, thank you 😁 I don't have the link but I bought them from a company called 12v planet, I think they call them low profile spotlights, they come in different colours.

Genuine question, instead of using the y connectors could you instead just use a butt connector? 2 positives in one end and a single positive out the other. Great video by the way 👍

What do you call that wire terminal thingy? I'm trying to find it to buy it. Also, is that used so you can connect lights in parallel?
@campervibe3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, it's called a butt connecter, they come in different sizes depending on the thickness of cable you are using. I used them so I could easily connect to the cable that was pre fitted to the lights, whether you run them in series or parallel is up to you. Hope that helps, thanks for watching 👍
