Thanks for the shoutout! For this one in particular, I combined 3 different concepts from Meybis Ruiz Cruz's art. I simply used that piece for the thumbnail. As I am doing daily sketches I can't always spend a ton of time explaining my intention with each sketch and that is my fault. Either way, thanks for the shoutout and keep up the good work!

Mate, I've said it before on your Udemy course reviews but I'll say it again: you're such an awesome teacher. I'm 32 and have been doing 3D art for some time now but I seemed to hit a wall until I found your courses. Your teaching style is engaging, hilarious, informative, entertaining, gripping... You're a bloody legend mate. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. I own all your Udemy courses I could find (they're spread across a couple different 'companies' as well as the ones on your named profile there: hope I'm not missing any). I feel like I learn something new in pretty much every one of your videos, even if it's just a little trick or a different way of thinking. Okay I'll stop boosting your ego now mate haha. Cheers!

Oh, one other thing, this video reminded me actually... If you're ever looking for ideas on a new course, I would love a likeness sculpting one. I own a couple that cover the topic of sculpting celebrities and such, but I just can't resonate with any other online teacher I've found haha.

that's what always impressed me about Follygon. He goes really high poly and still achieves appealing stylised characters. He's not the best with non stylised things, but I think he's trying to catch up there!
@SpeedChar3 жыл бұрын
It is his style, but for beginner artists I don't think it is right. They will make a mess with his workflow.

mm, not sure if I want to get back in to sculpting, been doing it since zbrush came out, but I am thinking its not that much fun anymore even when I do a good model. take too long IMHO surely ts easier to make a sub d from a base head and then do any details in zbrush - why start from a cube or a sphere, totally not production friendly having said that the channel is great and I like sculpting just to prove I can do it :)

would this have been better with less focal length ? since the reference has a big nose wide angle feeling to it. i would expect it to be like 35 mm ??? any thoughts??? this made the nose much harder modeling on 85mm? idk

Probably, but I haven't thought about the focal length at all when I did it :)

Zbrush works extremely well with high poly models, but Blender not so much, it's just the way the programs are built, maybe it will improve in the future

Hello Nicolay. While making masks with Lasso-Circle and Rect in Zbrush, there is also a masked area on the back surface. Is this normal?
@SpeedChar3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. If you don't want mask on the back surface, you can mask with the brush, but on thin surface it will also mask the back. So you can hold Ctrl, go to Brush, Auto Masking, and activate BackfaceMask for the mask :).
