WHat a great underrated video Its worth watching every single second of it for any Canadians who are planning to apply for TN very informative.

Also can you tell us which specific border crossings are the key border crossings that hand out TN visas (as you mentioned in the video)? I was gonna go to the 'One Rainbow Bridge, Niagara Falls, New York' location -- is this a good one to go to for a Canadian RN looking to get her TN visa too?

Hi, I recently heard from a RPN who works in Ontario got her Eligibility from the New York state board to write NCLEX- RN, she doesn't have a nursing degree from Canada or from Back home. Do you think this information could be true? Does the New York licensing board allow Diploma holders to write NCLEX RN? Please share if you know anything about this. Thank you.
@Vnez93553 ай бұрын
NYS has to NCLEX exams. One for RPN's or as they are called in the states LPN and one for RNs. Your friend was probably required to take the NCLEX-LPN. This reply is late so I'm sure you have figured it out by now.

Why didn't you go with a nursing agency that provides EB3 visa? Like Medpro or health carousel, for example
@damen02 жыл бұрын
did you go through a travel agency? Did you apply on your own? Did you have nursing experience or were you a new grad?
@thatnursingstudent2 жыл бұрын
No travel agency, a contracting agency for a full time job. No experience working as a new grad. My spouse is still working in Canada so he did not apply for the spousal tn. He would only need his own tn if he was working in the usa as well. On a spousal tn he cannot work in the states and has to stay in Canada for half the year or more.

Thank you needed this ! Any tips on how a new grad can actually land a job to get the whole process started? Since I think you have to have a job offer before starting anything. Any particular places I should apply to like hospitals or private home health care companies to be more likely to land a job? I’m giving my nclex end of march then want to move to the US.

I applied online to a bunch of companies, including Indeed, Linkedin, etc! There are no specific hospitals some won't answer others get back right away so it's a numbers game, I would apply to as many as you can that fit your needs

hey girl, I'm looking to travel nurse too, I have pretty much all of my documents ready except for the "TN visa" which I thought was a travel nurse visa -- which I have -- but apparently TN visa stands for Trade NAFTA visa :( May I ask, how do u apply for a trade NAFTA visa? I didn't know we had to have a Trade NAFTA *along with * a travel nurse visa
@abdullahalmussallam44265 ай бұрын
NAFTA stands for the North American Free Trade Agreement between Canada, Mexico, and the United States, which means that nationals of those three countries can work in each other's countries without needing a proper work visa. Assuming you're Canadian and wanting to work in the U.S., all you would need is a job offer from a Canadian employer. At the U.S. border, you can apply for the visa upon arrival into the U.S. TN visas are indefinitely renewable, so you can take as many contracts as you want. And that's pretty much the entire process. The only catch is you cannot intend to immigrate to the U.S. since your TN visas are considered "single intent" visas, as in your only intention should be to work temporarily, not to immigrate.

When you went through CGFNS, did you have to pay for both VisaScreen certificate and also CES Professional Report? I was advised to get VisaScreen ($600) by an agency but now that I'm trying to apply to state license in WA and the board isn't even asking for VisaScreen but asking for CES report which was a sticker shock, which is another $400? Just wondering what the process was for you with CGFNS and applying state license.
@thatnursingstudent2 жыл бұрын
I had to pay the 600 for CGFNS. I can’t remember the feed to get my license with the IN board but it was not much. I unfortunately have not heard of a CES report
@jamesskuggedal Жыл бұрын
Yes you need to pay for both. And if your in a rush you need to pay for it to be expedited. Ive spend $1550 usd as a Canadian total. Visa screen 700. The to add a second state licence extra $450 CES then $400 to expedited

Thank you so much for the comprehensive video!! I have a few questions that I was hoping you could help me with. 1) I am wondering if I need an official license verification or if I can just print out my QuickConfirm report? 2) Did you need to provide a high school transcript in addition to the university transcript? Or is a university transcript adequate? 3) If you had an employer in Canada, do you know if the old employer needs to provide a proof of employment letter? 4) I have my CGFNS certificate. Do I still need to provide proof that I passed the NCLEX? If so, how do I prove that? Thank you once again!! :)
@thatnursingstudent Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the watch! 1) I brought my version of the quick form which was a print off page of my nursing board message that stated I passed and a screenshot of my registration number 2) yes both high school and uni
@thatnursingstudent Жыл бұрын
3) not sure if this is relevant, if you are moving to the usa to work then your old employer is not relevant you will need the letter from your job in the USA that you intend to work for though 4) bring all documents on top of the CGFNS, print out from your nursing board message center works for nclex

Could you have gone with green card directly instead of TN Visa?
@thatnursingstudent2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can get a green card but that would be a full time job most likely for relocation purposes. My contract is temporary with an agency, agencies pay more for temp contract work but do not sponsor for green cards you would have to find a job directly with an employer to go that route

@@anitakonadufrimpong8465 yes! So I looked up jobs online in certain states that I was interested in working in. If you look up relocation jobs or travel jobs in that state they’ll usually show contracting companies that are looking to hire. If you look up regular jobs you can contact the hospital directly and see if they have a team that would sponsor you to relocate (sometimes it’s listed as a requirement to already have a license in that state but it doesn’t hurt to reach out and ask)
