This looks way nicer than the regular candy wrap where you twist the paper ends but then it looks kinda crumpled. Meanwhile this looks nice and neat

Does the thickness of the paper matter? Because my paper ripped when I tried to tie the bows on both ends. I was really gentle too. What should I do?

I used carddstock. Unfortunately thin paper will probably not do so well.
