Very interesting!. Its cool that you don't need adhesive's applied.

If you use this method, it tends to dampen the vibration of the drum shell, which can affect the sound. If instead, you glue the entire wrap to the shell, it basically becomes one with the shell and vibrates along with it, which sounds much better.

I feel that loose (non glued) wrap will be part of the sound.

I rewrapped a few drum sets that were fixer uppers. I’ve done the glue and it works better than Sam’s method. His wraps are good though. The tape sucks. I had bubbles all over the place. He’ll say, “you did it wrong”. Yeah, no. The contact cement is the way to go.

Sam: This video if four years old, you say that the instruction video is dated, other than snail mail and fax, there is no contact info.---not useful, as I am currently outside the U.S. You appear to be the only one who offers a REAL "Marine Pearl" wrap. Are you still in business? If yes, please provide new contact info. Thanks.

Just about the wrong way of doing all of this. Chrome cleaner and a toothbrush will inevitably scar the chrome, plus the lugs themselves could likely benefit from regreasing and interior cleaning. Use Groove Juice. Never "pry" off an existing wrap without using some form of heat, and NEVER with a screwdriver!!! Otherwise the old wrap will remove small pieces of the shell. Heat will soften any glue and release it gently. Finally... never use a wrap that uses TAPE to adhere it, unless you want to redo your drums over and over for the next 10-15 years. It simply doesn't work, it DOES affect the shell sound, and is far more likely to bubble than a wrap that has been properly glued to a shell. There is a 5 part on rewrapping bass drums (which applies to toms as well) somewhere here on KZbin, which is very in-depth and provides a wealth of great tips on how to rewrap a drum. Yes, glues take longer and are harder to work with, but they are far superior and last much longer and simply produce a better product. Plus, a bit of comparison pricing reveals that the jamminsam product is nearly FOUR times the cost of other wraps out there. I can't figure out why...

+TheWitchOvAgnesi Insightful. Four times you say? Where else were you looking? They seem fairly competitively priced at the moment.
