Besides looks, what benefits do wraps provide? Do they help shed snow off the tunnel?

Its mainly cosmetic for sure but it also helps protect the stock machine from scrapes and there is some benefit with less snow buildup.

Your local snowmobile dealer will usually do an install. It's very expensive though. They charge shop hours and at 3+ hours it adds up quick. It just makes more sense to do it yourself

About how long did that take start to finish?

It usually takes between 3 and 4 hours from start to finish. Less time when starting with a brand new machine as there is less time in cleaning and prep.

Where can I get that soft "sponge" for applicating. I've only ever used the felt covered plastic tools but that sponge looks like it works mint!
