How to wrinkle paint your valve cover. JDM red

This was a fun experience. This is a cheap diy project you can do in a couple of hours. I used VHT wrinkle red paint and paint remover.

if you put carmex on the letters before you paint it's an even easier process than have to sand afterwards.

+Francisco Silva get a drill an a paint remover bit. That would work for sure. It just takes time. Get the black sponge looking bit so it doesn't scratch the rims up

Leaving outside in the sunlight will get you wrinkles as well, you just have to wait longer for the wrinkles to come up

It's pretty tough, stronger then any other valve cover paint.

I used plastic wrap and spraying two different colors at once to get a marble effect it came out amazing. Cream gold Marble. also just to be safe I used acetone or alcohol to neutralize first, then rinsed with water and let it evaporate in the sun just to be extra careful. When you first started spraying, it looked like it was really windy. I suggest taking a big cardboard box and making a disposable paint booth.

Yes, your correct. Just take a pencil and cover the eraser with some sandpaper and your golden.

Jim D I used Stone texture over Chrome and then painted it satin black. It made my trim look like cast iron. 🍳🍳
