hello! :DDD im 14 years old and i started writing the first chapter of my book so far! this is what im thinking the summary should be soo yuh :>>> " All it takes is one person to ruin a lifetime. One person to take away a life, another to ruin someone's trust for a lifetime, and one person who snaps and decides that enough is enough They take the blade, or the nose, hatchet, machete, and they snap. This is the story of three people, all their trust broken, who picked up a key, a sword, and a bit of knowledge and took down a government. " basically my story is going to be about these three main characters, lilith, grinch, and amy, who are part of a rebellion against the so called "government" (which you find out later isnt actualy the gov but like im not gonna get into thatttttttt.) the three of them one day decide that to get rid of it, they have to join it, to destroy it from the outside andddd yeah! also at some point i forgot that these are my charaters and i made headcannons for them and then was like "wait a minute-" and yeah! :>>> i just really wanted to share it because im really proud of mehselfffffff edit: i fin chapter one! it has 1135 words! :DDDD

Cool! I'm 15 and I just started working on my book as well! I just finished chapter two and I've been writing for almost two weeks. We should edit our comments once a week to show how far we've gotten! Edit 1- Week two is over. Made it to chapter three and wrote 7900 words! 5/30 Edit 2- I didn't quit! I decided to slow down on writing because of exams but I'm back at it! I'm at 12,000 words and chapter 5. I'm going to update every 10,000 words just so I can see my own progress and how fast I complete things. Good luck on all of your writing! 6/13 Ok, actually did give up at this point. 14,000 words. I've realized I wrote myself into a corner and realized how writing makes me feel in general. I also do art and art is what I've always wanted to make my career. Now I understand why. When I do art I feel relaxed, I get into a zone that I can go into at 5:00, not wake up from until 8:00, then wonder where all the time went. It makes me happy, not just after I've done it but (and this is key) WHILE I'm doing it. Writing can be fun for me too but not in the same way. Writing itself almost always felt like a chore, it was hard to get started and hard to continue. The words felt empty and the black and white wall of text before me, bleak. The stress it put on me became heavier and heavier until it became something I never wanted it to be. Art is difficult too, and the drawing on the paper rarely even resembles the images in my mind but it doesn't stress me as writing does and I can see my progress and improvement in all of my work. Perhaps someday I will return to writing in some form, maybe even to my current project! But for now I am done. I'm not trying to discourage other aspiring authors. If you want to write a book, you can! It's not impossible and anyone who really wants to can do it, but if it becomes something that you don't want to do anymore don't make yourself continue, even if you've already told everyone you know that you're doing it! After quitting I have been much happier and have been able to do more art than I was before. Good luck with writing or whatever other task you set yourself! 7/28 Haha! How nieve I was, thinking I could escape! Like I could get away that easily. A new idea has trapped me and I shall never break free! 3 days: 5000 words. 7/30/23 I just write fanfic now

I know I’m a bit late to commenting on this video, but I’m hoping someone will see this comment :) I’m an eleven year old (turning twelve in 8 months) and I’m planning to write a book throughout the school year whenever I have free time, although I probably won’t publish it. I already have an idea in my mind which I’ll sum up in a few sentences: a twelve year old girl has to homeschool herself because of her legal guardian, her sister, basically pretends she doesn’t exist. When the sister gets arrested for drug dealing and child neglect, the girl is now owned by an elderly relative, although she doesn’t see him much because she goes to boarding school. At this school she solves mysteries and crimes. The idea is heavily inspired by the Netflix show Wednesday and the book Friday Barnes. If anyone can give me tips or feedback then that would be appreciated :)

Hi Lileh! That's great that you're writing a book. That sounds like a fun idea. Wednesday was a great show, I enjoyed watching it. My biggest piece of advice to you is to write as much as you can and write what excites you. Writing is fun, and the best way to get better at it is to write a bunch. See if you can write the entire book from start to finish, and do that before you wonder at all about how to make the book "good." As long as you love it and are excited about it, that's all that matters, so follow what makes you excited about writing and have tons of fun doing it.

The book takes place in Japan and to these 5 special people have these monsters in them like different types of dragons. Hey! I know this was 2 years ago, but I hope you could give me a little step by step as to what editors I need first. Does it go like this? 1. Editor 2. Line Editor 3. Copy Editor - and so on? I'm not sure when it comes to these editors.
@WritewithClaireFraise
@WritewithClaireFraise Жыл бұрын
The typical order of readers/editors goes like: 1. Alpha readers 2. Beta readers 3. Developmental editor 4. Line editor 5. Copy editor 6. Proofreader -- but you don't need all of these editors! I used a developmental editor and a line editor on They Stay and They Whisper, and then a line editor and a proofreader on They Return. You can use as many or as few editors as you choose but I highly recommend working with at least one good professional editor who can make your prose clean and professional before publishing.

Hi there! This is a big question, but a great place to start with marketing is creating your own website and starting your own newsletter. One podcast that I really love listening to about marketing is Six Figure Authors, they do a fantastic job breaking down all of the different things that go into marketing your book. This might help you get an idea of the marketing things that you can do to market your book, but you absolutely don't have to do all of them. I hope your book is going well!

I’m in high school and I’m writing a book called Some Flowers Have Thorns it’s about a young florist who discovers a spell book that could save his mothers shop, but he doesn't realize the danger of using magic till it's too late. To sum it up he is a magical Florist pansexual mess on a journey to save his mother from the government, he meets some friend and maybe even a love interest.

@WritewithClaireFraise
@WritewithClaireFraise Жыл бұрын
This sounds like a really cool story! I hope your writing project is going well! My advice would be not to get ahead of yourself in planning a trilogy. Just focus on writing the first book and see where the journey takes you from there. But once that book is done and you're excited and want to plan a trilogy, then definitely go for it, writing a series is super fun 😀

Sorry definitely not qualified to give advice but isn't it more important to make the book the best that you can and not to worry about some artificial deadline that you made yourself? If you can edit it and get it to where you want it in time that's great, but if not, think about waiting to publish until it's a product you know you're happy with. Again not qualified to give advice but I hope it helps anyway.

I second what Patrick said! Don't put artificial pressure on yourself and try to publish before you are ready and super proud of the book you have written. Also, don't put so much pressure on yourself that you stop enjoying the process. Writing should be exciting and fun (at least most of the time) - so make sure you enjoy it and don't rush to a goal too fast without enjoying the journey to get there :)

hi I'm kinda in the same position you are now all what you have to do is watch, read and hear English, you will get better. that worked for me but you still have to study English from time to time. and if you are fluent in another language use it first, don't try to write your book in English but try to translate it into it. good luck!

The question is, why do you want to write in english? There are certain things that you can only express in your native tongue, and i think books turn out better if writen like this. I suggest you could try writing as you feel confortable, maybe it will turn out great because you made it in a way that you weren't scared of mistakes 🤷🏻‍♀️
