That was a heck of a plot twist at the end there mate

Omg! I’m so glad you got your book written, and that everyone is ok. It could’ve gone so much worse! Great tips for getting that written, and I’m definitely going to give it a try. :) Also liked and subscribed. :)

Great video my friend. So glad that you and your family are OK after that accident. Look into a lapel mic for when you're driving. Allows you to keep both hands on the wheel and it does a good job of eliminating road noise as long as you have it as close to your mouth as possible. I use a cheap $15 one with my Sony UX570 and it has been a game-changer for my driving sessions.

Thanks! That's awesome - I'll definitely check that out. However, I drove stick for so long I'm in the habit of only holding the wheel with one hand anyway... heh.

So happy I stumbled across this video, actually I did stumble across a different video first, but it was an hour long and the video started with him touting all his many accolades. I don't like my time being wasted by people who talk a lot of fluff. I appreciate your knowledge and efficiency. Thank you so much!

I recently started doing a walking dictation practice for a "walking draft and outline." My trick is to say "sidenote" or "edit" if I need to change it. And totally, have to have filler words, especially for fantasy names.

This was a super helpful video. I have been wanting to figure out how I can dictate and get ideas out of my head in a cohesive process. Also, I am so thankful your family is doing well after that terrifying experience❤

Thank you! Yeah, it’s a bit of a mental process, but doesn’t take too much investment to get started!

Hi Nick, great video. My biggest problem with dictating is that my mind simply doesn't flow as compared with when I'm writing. It's like I have writer's block like nothing else when I dictate - my brain literally freezes up. I have no problem whatsoever with adding punctuation because I dictate so often in my work and also in my personal life. In fact I'm dictating this comment right now. So what is wrong with me? Why can't I write using dictation and achieve the same flow and ease as I can when I am typing?

I always pretend I'm talking to a friend. If it's a fiction story, I pretend that I'm telling the story to someone. If it's nonfiction, I pretend I'm explaining it (yeah, I was a teacher/trainer).
