I like that you mentioned examples of how to begin and how to end a letter. I find it helpful if I have a template in mind. Donc, from the sample letters, I noted the ff (if ever I will take an exam): first, ask how my friend is; then ask what my friend is doing at the moment or planning to do in the near future; then invite my friend, mention some dates; then share my plans for us together. It is easier to write anything with a prepared outline. Merci!

Bonjour ! Wonderful, it's true, even from my personal experience, I can say that templates are a great way to succeed! There are patterns to remember, and especially if you are taking a DELF exam, you can definitely score some extra points just by having a template ready in your mind !

Hiiii! I hope everything went well :) Accents are important in French, but don't worry about it, in A1, they will not focus on the accents you forgot. As a matter of fact, they will focus on what you KNOW and not what you DON'T KNOW.
