Great video Trena! I think it's so helpful to see you actually filming and pausing to look at the script. I think that part is so hard for me because I find myself trying to record to much at once and having to delete that clip and start over, because I mess up. I'm trying to learn how to pace myself and say a few sentences at a time, so I don't ramble on, and mess up, and have to start over, wasting so much time. I'm also "planning"😁 my videos now, try to write bullet points so I can stay on track. It really does help me to film a video, much faster and with less mess ups. Thanks -Stacy

I start with concept, what am I offering. Everything is answer a simple question, who is it for?, what will it do for them, how will they get there, where will they be at the end of the process? Why I produced the content. The production sheet contains the assets, the concept, the script, the title, the tags and the description. The script is copied to a separate doc. This allows me to focus on presentation. Then I go back to the project sheet to update assets that bring the script to life. Then comes production, post, captions and the windscreen.

What do you have your script on so that you can see it while you're recording. Is it blown up some where on a screen so you can see it? Your videos are so detailed and thorough and well thought out

First, I don't ever use a teleprompter. I feel unless you are VERY good at reading on (like a news caster), we can see your eyes moving and you aren't making the connection you need to. I have my video game plan pulled up on my computer right by my camera. I deliver a few lines and then check out my script if I get stuck.

Late to the party! But I halfway plan my videos, I make gameplay videos so typically I try and figure out the structure of the video, write down a few main topics or bullet points and try to figure out a creative way to get me from the start of the video all the way to the end of the video!

Hi Trena, thank you for all your tips about growing a youtube channel. I have started one in 2017 and have posted about 40 videos so far, not just on my business topic but also lifestyle. And at the beginning I also made the mistake to buy some followers… so out of the 200+ subscribers I now have, some are the result of that purchase. I would like to grow the channel and start posting consistently - around my main business topic - but I’m wondering if the above could become obstacles to its growth? On the other hand I have many videos out of the 40 that are still on topic.. Also the idea of starting a new channel all over again and losing the many organic views I have so far doesn’t seem right either…

No, I would keep with the channel you have and just make a plan to get consistent... like a new video every week. That should help your channel.

I honestly don't track that. I create a video script to ensure it delivers on the promise of the title of the video. Then when I record, how ever long it ends up being is how long it is.

Hello As a professional scriptwriter, it takes longer than that 3 mins to write. Writing is not talking and vice versa. You write Read Edit Read again And keep it going till you get what you want
