Hey man, I think your videos are really interesting but I struggle to follow what you're saying because of the background music - even more so in this than in the others I've watched. But good work nonetheless!

Thanks man; I have definitely learned my lesson since these early videos and toned down the background music in my more recent videos. I'm planning to re-upload some of these earlier videos with better sound and editing at some point.

I'm a huge ben folds fan and I really enjoyed this song. Its definitely in his style but its got a lot about it you'd never hear in one of his, its pretty great.

Your song feels like it would fit in a musical quite well, especially with the idea of a wasted prodigy

Yeah, I feel that. Ben has often talked about writing a musical, I think his style would be great for one.

I think you are onto something with this content. I'm getting the artists point of view but from your thought process and using it in my writing. Thanks, it's very useful info.

Loving this series, would love to see a Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters breakdown. I think there are plenty of references to his process, one that sticks with me is his "bumper sticker" analogy. Keep them coming! Absolutely loved the Jeff Tweedy word ladder trick, if you know of any little tricks like that, that can get thoughts to jump off the paper and inspire new ones in your head please share!

I simply love this format of content, and the easy and chilled way you express your ideas through it. Also I found quite amazing your song progression! Such cool intro and pre-chorus ideas. "I'm still who I used to be plus depression and anxiety"! hahaha! Man, you got me there. I relate not only to the content but to your personal story as well. Really felt it. You have yourself another fan in me! Thanks for sharing!

Outstanding content - well thought out and good pacing. Good song too. Nailed the Ben Folds influence without being derivative, not an easy trick. Keep up the good work, you're on to something here.

Also, listening to a few of these songs you've made.. Your voice is very suited to musical theater, you may hate that, but I mean it as a compliment 😄

I love Ben Folds. I could hear Ben singing something like this! I don't know if that was point or not lol, but it sounded great. I get so stuck with lyrics. I play piano, guitar, drums, bass, and I sing. I can do all of those sings well, but when it comes to writing, I get so critical of myself. Even now I'm wondering if my grammar is correct in this post lol. It's probably not. Anyway, I guess I need to find a way to take ME out of the picture and just write objectively. Thank you for your input and advice.
