Is this applicable to US job hunting mostly? In NL/EU I had the complete opposite experience, where resumes like the 'winning' one are considered sloppy and lazy (as it's basically a wall of text, very hard to read). As a hiring manager, I also tend to favor prospective candidates with nicer looking CVs because it gives me the impression that in our line of work (which requires a lot of presentations and slides) they will be willing to put in the extra effort to make things easy to read and digest, other than come with a long list of bullet points. Maybe this is what is preferred in the US market though?

This definitely applies to the U.S. but I have seen this for my clients in Asia & Europe as well. Some countries do require a photo on resumes but it's very rare!

I had phone interviews with HR and they asked for my schedule for the next round of interviews with the managers. No reply for almost a month now, I’ve been following up almost every week and been giving my availability for the following week. Am I doing something wrong? I hate this feeling of being “ghosted”
