Hello Mr Salles, I've been reading lots of articles in preparation for paper 2, and I think I'm right in saying that often the voice used changes between 1st, 2nd and 3rd person. They often start in the 3rd then go to 1st with an anecdote and then to 2nd with some direct address. Is this ok? I thought changing the voice was a no-no, or does that only apply to creative writing?

This was a great video, and I learnt a lot, but there is something I want to ask. Isn't this too descriptive? hello mr salles could you give me some advice for this half-completed article on global warming Walking out of my humble abode, I am met by a monstrous welcoming wind, which forced me to bid farewell to my journey. Gutted. Storm Eunice, so looks like global warming has finally embarked and commenced its destruction and torment on the "formidable" Britain. To think we thought we were safe, and now we all say "Oh! if its not the consequences of my actions". Pretty obvious the endless use of oil, gas, coal, electricity would ultimately lead to severe and frequent storms; excessive raining and exhausting droughts; extinction of animals. I'm pretty sure you were trapped and confined in your houses too, wasn't fun was it? In case you were unaware, yes humans are responsible for destroying and torturing the earth, and are doing so at an alarming rate. Already winds of 25m/s are obliterating homes and residencies that your children and grandparents live in. Think about for this a second. Think. By the way it does not get better. Eventually we will all have children and naturally as parents have this psychological urge and moral duty to protect our loved ones at all costs, but still we decide to destroy and sabotage their lives before they have even began. Merciless, remorseless and ruthless. We are purposefully giving ourselves the inability to jump and play and feel that sense of innocence with our children in the parks you grew up in, with all your favourite slides and swings and see-saws, the same parks you journeyed upon in our infant ages. We are depriving our young-ones with their best moments of their lives. Why? Just because you wanted to eat that lasagne in your new five-thousand watt microwave, or when you thought throwing that Evian bottle outside wouldn't hurt anyone, would it? Think. I know its bad but I would just like pointers to improve, thanks

hi sir, could you give me feedback on this paragraph i wrote straight. i know its not the best and i could definitely add more features but what grade do you think this would receive? Eat right. Live longer. (article) Show me a great grandparent and I'll show you their diet from young to elderly. Many studies conducted based on this topic showed that eating the right foods at the right time is directly correlated to a longer life expectancy. Eating is a major factor in our lives, whether it be a chore or a reward, we all enjoy it. Not only eating the right foods determines one's level of performance,concentration and mood but also helps us come together and strengthen our bonds. Yes of course it doesn't mean that you should restrict and only live on greens forever, a bucket of finger-licking wings from your nearest KFC whilst you binge-watch your favourite netflix series or going on a date with your friends once in while wouldn’t hurt, but making that into a routine may cause serious illnesses such obesity or cancer and bring about bad habits.Not only eating healthy maintains the shape of one's body, but also help develop discipline. Self discipline is the key to any success but is not something easy to master, by taking small steps like swapping coke with water are like the stairs in a ladder which will eventually lead to a better you. And who doesn't want to be a better version of themselves?
@MrSallesTeachesEnglish2 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is very good. You need to use the verb to do with the phrase not only, so you would say: not only does. When we talk about studies, we hope their evidence is true all the time, so we write about their results in the present tense. Many studies show. It would then be at least a grade 8 paragraph.
