Hi. It’s really not easy to put this on text but I’ll do my best. A critically discuss question requires you to answer by discussing all facts of the topic. Try your best not to take a side. However you need to have one major point in your discussion. This is mostly your own opinion or a general view of the topic. Like in BCM Your major point can be “That Black consciousness was a powerful philosophy that changed the resistance to apartheid” or in the case of Vietnam if they ask you to critically discuss your main point could be “The Vietnamese were small group that defeated a mighty military force by outsmarting them” It all depends on the question. Remember an essay is basically a long answer to a question. When they give you the question try answering it in your own words and in a short sentence. That could be your stance

Hey. Great observation. The Background information paragraph can be very helpful but unfortunately does not count for marks. It helps you tell your story better. I encourage you to write it but do not write more than ONE PARAGRAPH. Otherwise it’s a waste of time in the exam… Thanks for bringing this up💫

Not really. The background helps you to tell the story better. This is where you explain things like definitions or what happened before, who is who and why it is all happening. You can get away with not writing it. Just start answering the question.

While it is not advised to do that here are a few steps I’d take to revise. 1. Select the 3 topics you will write in the exam and STICK TO THEM. 2. Revisit Notes you’ve taken before. If you don’t have ask a friend to share. 3. Practice with previous questions papers. This will give you the real experience that you will get during an exam. Only answer questions like Reliability, Usefulness, limitation of the source and Paragraph as well as essay questions 4. For Essay questions 4.1 Create A summary or Notes that cover the whole topic 4.2 try writing 3 introductions for different questions on the same topic. Hope this helps. Your mistake I think you didn't mention the background information after the introduction before you write your points (peel paragraphs)

There's something that is missing is to put words like furthermore, Hence Moreover, Therefore when you construct your essay. , you know what is surprising me it's that in paper 1 of History in trial examination I got 124 out of 150 and on paper 2 I got 132 out of 150 when you you add up it is 256 divide by 300 in total and multiple by 100 and it is 85,33333333 which is level 7 but the interesting part is to use the combination of Two Essays and one source which really works for me but I want to improve in source based Questions like question like , reliability of the source, comments questions, usefulness of the source, paragraph questions of 8 marks which I always lose it every time
