I also started to use Rails very good framework. You can write so fast at the begining I was a little bit confused with the syntax of Ruby it is totally different than PHP.There is no ";" at the end of each statement.Getters and Setters are : attr_write, attr_read or If you want to include both at the same time you can write attr_accessor

learning curve + documentation + natural logical conventions etc. I know it's personal. But still let's compere Laravel and Yii I got Yii docs in my native langue still LV is a lot more adoptive. Give it a try. If you come from CI or don't like a lot auto magic LV is a great way. Still LV or Yii .. can't go wrong here.Cheers!

Thx i must try Laravel in action. The docs are fine and its popularity is booming! LV not only uses 5.3 stuff but he relys on them. Btw. can't wait for CI 3.0 ;) the CI Reactor really got CI going! ... as for FuelPHP well ... i think it will go the same path as Kohana - poor docs, poor tutorials - are they super secret sociaty or what? Sometimes I envy RoR/Python developers... a big variety of FM is annoing hehe...

Zend is a monster, but is very heavy."Flow3" is more andvanced framework and is good.Everyone have to choose the situation which framework to use.If the web site is for music artist there is no need to use something very heavy, but if the web site is something like twitter it's better to use framework as "Flow3"

General consensus is that "beautiful code" does NOT contain a trailing "?>" at the end of a file that contains only PHP. I figured a video on "beautiful code" would understand this... guess not. Also, I doubt highly the girl speaking is the actual coder... she's too good at speaking, lol. Usually, people that want a professionally made video, like this one, will hire a paid speaker. Anyways, good vid.

use codeigniter it's better than cakephp. it's light php framework and works faster than Zend.

Yii is good ... but still it is a long adventure. Codeigniter is a good choice but as a CI developer i know it dosen't have all the 5.3 goodies... so if you like this elements and still like it simple... try FuelPHP or Laravel. Zend is good in big teams etc. and on shered hosting it is a FAIL. tooo bad we have a lot of FM and so litle doc and good tutorials for them. Avoid using FM that don't have droper docs ... its bad for your healt. Cheers.

After 1 minute into the "MVC"-part I stopped watching. If they talk about a Controller beeing the "glue" between View and Model and talk about "The Model" in relation to a database table, they're not talking about MVC...

Laravel HAS NOT set the PHP Standards. Laravel uses its methods, but each framework has its main focus, and when you want more enterprise level standards, Laravel is not the go to.

PHP is NOT a Object Oriented language, it's Object capable, so stop trying to make OOP happen it's not gonna happen. PHP It's not intended for static typing, so shove that up there.
