Critical appraisal is an essential tool that every clinician should master. Many clinicians ask me about how to write the critical appraisal of medical journal articles, specially that of randomized control trials or RCT. Here, we are going to explore that topic in details. Unlike the critical appraisal of qualitative research, the critical appraisal of an RCT needs to be done with extra caution as it may affect our decision making process in terms of the application of the research findings to our clinical practice.
