Austin, you are a genuine guy, hope people learn and apply them in their lives. A good idea is every where, it's just how much emotion it evokes in you. Even if it is a line that has been used in a thousand songs, you can say it again but in your own specific way so that when people hear that, they think of you.

While this particular version of “the craft of wrapping a set of words around a melody” is acceptable (given today’s less than erudite appetite), the level of invention that it rises to is remarkably remedial. There is something to be said for studying prose and poetry of the last couple of centuries. Sting, much like Taupin, Mercury, and Dylan for example, had a more evolved use of metaphor, color and simile. You consider me the young apprentice Caught between the Scylla and Charibdes Hypnotized by you if I should linger Staring at the ring around your finger I have only come here seeking knowledge Things they would not teach me of in college I can see the destiny you sold turned into a shining band of gold I'll be wrapped around your finger

That’s so funny I do the same thing, when I’m watching a show or movie and hear a good line I write it in my notes app then write around it. Or sometimes I’ll try and write a song about the main story of the show/movie. But I’m not confident in my songwriting, I always doubt myself and feel like it’s not good enough 😔
@JillB-g5q10 ай бұрын
The fact that you're constantly "hearing" & finding cues clues which you can then form into your song is surely a "sign"! I write too and I look at songwriting as a puzzle you yourself put in place the pieces together using your own individual creativity😊 experience. Notes App..yes is All where it's at! me too♡ Never ever give up just the fact that you're passionate about your craft (another sign).. and it's coming from your Heart means its Already Good enough! If you'd like to share anything I'd love to listen. Songwriter can and should help eacother. Best!♡
