Great Question, there is not a reason aside from desire to have another option or method for backup or to add longevity to the probes being used.

I saw this video as showing the key reader function. There is always other ways to do a job. @UHS Hardware. A nice and explaining the key reader and as bonus the rest of the function. Not living/working in the US, but these stuff get more and more global. So thanks for a nice and informative video (worldwide).

Why not click find bitting? See if it finds the code instead so it’s exact

Both are equally capable of finding Bitting. The upside would be saving wear or possible probe breaks in order to do the process. this device is alo useable with the stand alone app and key tool max/ Plus giving you more ability to do this task when not near your key machine.
