I feel a way about people who don’t expose crooks and dishonorable people. Anyone who mess with children should be exposed and should never be protected, it allows for the abuse to continue.

I agree with your point but the counterpoint is that a police report needs to be made when it is suspected that children are being abused. Even if what you reported is determined to be unfounded, if you contact the police, you are protected, unless you knowingly made a false report. On the other hand, if you make accusations against a person, you decide to “put them on blast” and what you said is unfounded, and what you said damages a persons reputation, you could be sued for slander. There’s a right and a wrong way to handle things.

Yup. And the world sees this and why blame them from saying “Nope?”. Humans are weak and sinful but through, God, capable of great things. There’s a difference between someone falling and whole sale just being fake and playing people. Judgements going to be a tough time for these folks. What we sow, we reap. ….and the last remarks about kids was frightening. Better to have a milestone around your neck tossed in the ocean than to harm a child. I understand why folks are cynical about faith when these things happen. Be assured, there are LOTS of folks doing it MUCH better than this. Imperfect people talking but also walking it. My mom sang both Opera and Gospel back in the 80s. She left the music industry altogether because she said regardless of the type of music, everyone with any level of influence uses sex (of all orientations) to gate-keep. There’s artists to this day she can’t stand because she knows what they do behind closed doors.

Wow, That happened with a few friends of mine. They took a trip to Atlanta Ga. to perform with a very popular Gospel Artist. After the show they all got paid and were waiting for one of the band members. Around twenty minutes later he came to the van and they left. As they were getting on the road home the Band leader ask what took him so long. He replied, He wanted extra money from the show and the "Artist told he'd have perform a "Oral sex act "on. So I did it. From that day on none of then worked him this guy again.

"He wrote us a hot check!" Been there; survived that; Lesson learned! As for the "discretion" thing: I've kept myself from trouble by teaching myself to stay out of everybody's way! Exactly! If I keep to myself, and don't attend "secondary events", I can't get caught up in other people's "activities!" They can't accuse me of anything if I'm not there! A lot of times, at music events, I find a good place to just be "invisible" until it's time for me to play. I disappear quickly and discreetly after I'm done. @@tosinfayanju188 I don’t think anyone claims that they’re perfect. The problem is carrying on in such sin while on “ministry” and in a way of a double life; not a single “mistake”. These people are not simply slipping up, they’re active hypocrites. If we as Christians don’t take Jesus seriously in our conduct, and carry on in our sin in a double life underneath the “holy” mask, why should the world take us seriously when we preach about sin and the gospel? There’s a reason why the media loves stories of double lives in church; because for them it shows that you can’t trust Christians to have any integrity, and it slanders the name of Christ.

I thought it was hard to but the moment I accepted God as my king I know longer care about the things I use to do. I use to wonder how folks who call themselves Christians could go to the point of no return when they yield to their temptation. My man, I've been in music ministry for close to 45 years, and I teach Black gospel music history & performance at a major university. I have similar stories from my touring days that, at one point, seemed to be the rule rather than the exception. One time, I scored music for a well-known artist and only got paid when I ran up on his pastor at a conference and told him I had not been paid despite having sent multiple invoices. He pulled out a roll of money as big as my fist and paid me on the spot. Definitely changed my perspective about certain gospel artists, and taught me how to be vigilant and my handle business differently.

I just started realizing that if people took some time to study the word, and took ten seconds to slow down from the perverse thoughts that they think and allow the lord to speak in the gap between the unholy thoughts you do have and the sane part of yourself, you will be able to allow the lord to take the throne of your heart and diminish your unholy thoughts. My son's father was a musician for a huge gospel artist for 20 years. When he shared what went on, I wept like a baby because so many people think the world of this person. I rarely, rarely listen to our gospel here in America. I found the purest form through the African spiritual artists. Their songs are pure, ushers in the Holy Spirit and it's REAL. It's sad and you have to be careful about what you listen to because their spirits enter into their songs. Its so real and the vessel and the sound is important. It can create some things that and cause unwanted spirits to attach. Its so much and this is happening so freely as if it's normal.

I think you missed everything he said. He admitted that he was of the mindset to attract girls through being a musician. He thought that by being on tour with gospel artists he would be safe from worldly influences so he desired to live right but when the girl told him all the tea it literally opened his eyes to the fact that gospel artists are the same as secular artists. Also he never said he was better than anyone nor is he making it seem as if he is. This is his admission of being HUMAN and susceptible to fleshly desires. As far as it goes to being stiffed in pay from the artist he has all right to be upset. If you do work for someone and they agree to pay you but they DON’T then your anger is justified. He also showed restraint by not naming them because he has all rights to do that as well because it calls out poor business practices on the artists behalf which is ungodly as well.

@@Kittymarshall5237 I understand why you say that. It is important that believers avoid talebearing. However, the Bible is filled with reports, not gossip, of how the people were behaving. Nothing wrong with Apostle Paul telling everyone that "Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil" or when he confronted Peter to his face. If someone had not told Paul about the man in Corinth who slept with his mother, Paul would not have written about it in his letter to get folks to repent. By the 2nd letter to Corinth the man had repented. Until I looked at this video I assumed gospel tours were going the way they should. The body of Christ does need to know that the gospel tours are not all holy so we know what to pray or preach about etc.

If you REALLY mean what you say and want to condemn these behaviors-- you would CALL OUT the names of people who are misrepresenting God, or even hurting people so there can be accountability and change. If you're not trying to do anything about it, then keep it yourself instead of making these videos feigning shock and concern.

He shared with me that members of a well known back in the day gospel group that did a concert in a nearby city solicited chosen women to come to their hotel rooms after the concert. One of the ex-husband’s girlfriends detailed to him all that she experienced with the lead singer of the gospel group so he thought it was fascinating to share this information with me and add that all the members of the gospel group were married. Unfortunately our culture has slipped into a done in the dark …mentality. This comment may not go over well but can we talk about it?! Is this a safe space? Brother i love what you are doing on your channel but i think you may have missed a moment to go beyond the exposure and share God's principles. Brother, I hear you but this video comes off one sided. No lesson at the end? No repentance on your part just exposure?! Is this the new come up for getting views? I asked respectfully . What's your real intentions? I do not want to assume anything this is why I'm respectfully asking you a question. The lessons may seem obvious but maybe not to especially new believers or young people like yourself at the time who are nieve to situations like this. I dont want to come off judgemental but i do want practice holiness, set apart as God intended us to be. Hold on let me take this out of my eye...Brother where is the accountability on your part? Are we just going to blame it on the age? Although immaturity and inexperience comes to play in this situation we still need to repent...no? Brother can we examine ? Here are a few questions for you and anyone who been in this situation.... respectfully, no need to lie to me. Be honest with self. We all know you cannot lie to the Holy Spirit. Scripture tells us to examine self so here we go...self examination questions: Why did you let the girl in your hotel room (especially if your roommate was sleeping)? Why didn't you end the conversation after she said she was just checking in you both? Why were you sitting on the bed together? No lounge area in room? You did say it was a nice hotel. Why did you lean back and position yourself to receive (I know what you said but again, be honest) Why did you stop her and asked her to leave as soon as she touched you the first srcond or third time? Why didn't you question her motives or call her out lovingly? Why werent you honest with your feelings and say sister this is a bad idea? Why are you really telling us about this experience? What do you want us to take away from this video? Lastly, things could have went far different like false accusations that could have ruined your life brother but by Gods mercy snd grace it didn't. You are one of the blessed ones but others experiences turned out completely different. Brother, your channel is amazing. I appreciate the musician pay rate video. Great content but this right here... brother you can use this opportunity to do more than exposed but share the gospel by sharing your experiences with others as a warning but an opportunity to share the gospel otherwise, whats the point?! I know this is your channel but i see you doing so much more than just exposing. There are lessons in this video and we should not assume people should know them. Thank you for reading. The story in this video basically speaks of sexual assault (yes, men get sexually assaulted by women too), and your response is to question the intentions of the victim???!! You want to say that a very young, very unsuspecting, perhaps naive man should have known better than to simply be nice to someone who was a part of the group, who seemed to be a nice, respectable person from the conversation had earlier that day, and claimed to be a Christian... to allow them in the room and have a conversation with them???! You want to question why the person who is being sexually assaulted and in shock over the whole act....why they let it happen??? And to add insult to injury, you want to say that the victim of all this is wrong and needs to repent???!! This is not only non-compassionate and non-empathetic, both of which are qualities you would think that Christians should have, but it is also sickening! What's next... What I got from his story is that he was in disbelieve to what was happening and the way she talked with him was deceiving and manipulative. He didn't know better and he's telling the dark side of what happens with so called Christians. And yes, age is definitely something to blame, because age comes with experience, and maturity. That leads to be more accountable for their actions when they're older. I believe you're overcomplicating this whole story. And self examination questions to a 20 year old? Answering those question means nothing in this particular case. Didn't you experience life as young teenager? Or did you forget how the mind of the young works? What do you mean otherwise whats point? He chose to make this video about exposing. Should he stop making music covers on piano videos on his other channel to start sharing the gospel? Also, where you practice "holiness" since your teenage years? if so, how many people you think was able to do that? I sure believe you wrote this all out of love with "respectfully this" "respectfully that" but remember that you may come as ignorant, or someone who believe they're above every one else and "suggest" what they should do better, otherwise "what's the point." This is a common behavior in Christianity. This is one of the many factors I left the church.

@lloyd1292 names should not be released. That would be contrary to the Godly counsel given in scripture. These artists and musicians should be taken aside and confronted in private. If they don't change, then they should be confronted by their congregation. If they still don't change you count them as heathen. Exposing them publicly beyond their own congregation is gossiping which the Bible says gossipers will not enter heaven. I already know there are a lot of church goers, church musicians and artists who don't actually believe in God. The Bible speaks of a pearl of great price (that is us), heaven bankrupted it self to buy us back. The interesting thing about a pearl is the flaws of the pearl is what makes it beautiful. One of your best videos and so so so true. As a Radio DJ on both clubs and on the radio I have done different events with Gospel artists and have toured with a Gospel group. Let me tell you...first hand....I was super surprised. I grew up in the church and my father was a minister but I did DJ in the clubs for several years. So like yourself, Im thinking " Mmm...I gotta make sure I fly right being with these guys"...don't need no scandals or problems ................................... There is a blank space for a reason.....I saw it all! Some of these Gospel artists or much worse than the R&B and Hip Hop people. Touring is a way to "get out of the house" and I've seen dudes hit everything that wasn't nailed down. I've also seen "Polly Purebread types" doing things that would have your mouth dropped down to the floor. Drinking, Plenty of that, and it goes on and on. I remember my Program director of a station was hosting a Gospel concert in the city. MAJOR gospel artists. The concert was sold out. Went off without a hitch. At the end of the concert....(or as they say "program" because we aren't doing it for "show") The headliner decided to "raise an offering" because we all had been blessed with this wonderful experience. Now keep in mind....people had paid anywhere from $25 - $50 for tickets. (maybe more). The offering raised about $50,000 or so. So the Gospel Artist, my Program Director, and the Promoter went in the back and SPLIT the "offering". That was a "bonus" or as they call it "the blessing"! Remember that was on TOP of the ticket sales that were already purchased. So I am saying all of that to let you know that everything you laid out is not only true but it goes to another level!

I remember there was an artist I looked up to. I sang at his church, and one of the ministers introduced me to him. Next thing, he was messaging me on FB and eventually gave me his personal cell. After a while, I noticed we would only talk when he was driving to pick his kids up from school or if his wife was traveling. Seemed weird. He personally gave me free vip invite to his recording. Then we started talking about one of my favorite pastimes - working out. That's when it went left. First he started with coded language. It seemed off but this guy had literally number 1 hits out on billboard and he was my friend. I felt lucky and uncomfortable. It wasn't too long before during a phone conversation he told me how he wanted to sit in my lap and ride me like a stallion. When I wasn't receptive, he turned it like I was stalking him. So I went off on him. We never spoke again. But fellow musicians and singers constantly told me of his habit of running sexcapades when he traveled as a solo artist without his group. Complete let-down. Still can't listen to his music.

When you don’t speak out and expose sin within the church then you are coming in agreement with it. Why wasn’t anybody praying and using the authority God has given to his true believers and followers. I’m learning it’s a lot of Christians living double minded, prideful and carnal. You know spirits still transfer regardless if you break contact. If we don’t repent everyday, read Gods word, repent, pray and submit to Gods authority the enemy is still in control. Ask me him to reveal truth until you so your not of the world. I was sinner and I’m getting better everyday but the first thing I had to do was get out of disobedience and get into obedience and faithfulness. I had to get my mind cleansed because the enemy likes to play mind games, I had to give my heart to God by forgiving everyone who ever did anything to me and also asking for forgiveness for everything I ever did. When God showed me my true self without him I felt such shame and I cried like baby but I also released it and God forgave me. The enemy only has the power we give it but once you tell the devil no and continue to tell him no he will flee you. Now you could cuss me out and I wouldn’t go left and match energy but instead I would pray because I understand pain and hurt manifest in many different ways. Stay bless and I hope this helps your walk with God. Put your trust in him only.

@ShavonaHooper I spoke out in my home country among the small community of singers and directors of influence. That's where a lot of his "adventures" took place. He preyed on young, impressionable men and women. Needless to say, to my knowledge, he is not a welcome figure there anymore. I didn't speak up in the US because I didn't want to become a part of a "story." Here, stuff can get real ugly, real quick - even if you are an innocent bystander.

Sorry this happened to you, Terence. Just wondering the reasons why these two bad incidences occurred. Was the female that went to your hotel room an arrangement by the big artist that wrote you a bad check? Maybe the gospel artist already planned to write you a bad check and not pay you but in order to keep you from coming after him with a lawsuit he arranged that gal to go to your room to keep you quiet? If you would have came after the artist with a lawsuit for the bad check all he would have to do is use that singer to falsely accuse you of SA, etc. Then this would be public information and ruin your reputation and embarrass you. I say this respectfully, and I like your channel - there were a lot of mistakes from all three of you guys. And of course this is not a reflection of ALL gospel artists. I worked with Rebecca St. James and Brenton Brown and they were very professional and strong believers and practiced what they preached (from what I saw).

I’m personally not surprised by this story at all. In retrospect, I can see how fortunate I truly was to not have made it deeper into this type of circle as far as the industry is concerned. I’d say this though. Although I respect your decision to not name names, I would venture that people feel empowered to continue with this type of unchecked behavior because no one holds them accountable. What you call integrity, they call discretion.

Many believers are still carnal and their souls have not been delivered. Sanctification is a process that moves faster for some than others. I wouldn't cast a shadow on an entire industry because this applies to people everywhere. I plan to tour one day and have always said a chaplain would be on my staff because being on the road for weeks at a time, people need their spirits fed with the Word of God and prayer. in order to live Holy.
