Much longer than I thought. I remember the trade and , it kind of didnt make sense for Montreal at the time.. but oh man, .. But.. how can you end trade trees without even talking about Mike Sillinger, the most traded NHLer ever in history? Seems like a travesty really. Can you at least consider it because it affected a LOT of peoples careers.

That 7th round pick that the Habs got in the Allen trade was shuffled around a few times before being reacquired by Montreal. First they sent it to Philidelphia in exchange for Erik Gustafsson, then the Flyers sent it to Arizona as part of the Shayne Gostisbehere trade, then Arizona sent it back to Montreal at the draft in exchange for Montreal's 2021 7th round pick.

So Rohrer (picked at 75) and Tourigny (picked at 216) are the players selected with those 2022 draft picks, both retained by Montreal, and so their part of this tree is over (until they trade one of the SIX assets they now own from this tree - Jacob Leguerrier signed with Rockford in the AHL last season, though he only spent 4 games there before going to the ECHL - but Suzuki, Allen, Myšák and Norlinder are all still under Habs control, plus the two players selected this summer). And yet it spreads laterally, now that Debrincat is a Senator!

@BrentRushton
@BrentRushton 3 жыл бұрын
Iirc, Price asked to be put on the exposed list. In my opinion, it has more with price blaming himself for the playoff loss to Tampa (his interview was evident of that). I’d rather him take the time to get ready mentally now in contrast to Montreal possibly running another Roy esk goalie out of the city.

The 2010 2nd round pick to select Mark Alt was used by the Canes, not by San Jose. So the trade was that 2nd round pick for Wallin and a 5th. Doesn't change the tree in any way, but for accuracy, this was the trade, the Sharks didn't select Alt. I would have recognized him as a Sharks prospect at one point if he was. Funnily enough, he's now on the Barracuda, the Sharks' AHL team.

The Bruins Barry Pederson trade tree is my favorite as a Bruins fan. Not only did Boston win the trade straight up getting Neely AND the 3rd overall pick which turned into Glen Wesley, but the trade tree is STILL growing today. When Wesley left, Boston got 3 draft picks, Kyle McLaren, Jonathan Aitken, and Sergei Samsonov. McLaren was traded for Jeff Jilson and Hacket, and Jilson was traded for Brad Boyes, who was swapped for Denis Wideman, who was traded for Nathan Horton and Gregory Campbell who helped Boston with the 2011 Stanley Cup. Samsonov went to Edmonton for Marty Reasoner, Yan Stastny, a 2nd rounder that turned into Milan Lucic. Lucic. Boston got Martin Jones, Colin Miller, Sean Kuraly, and a 1st, and then traded Jones for another 1st round pick. Boston drafted Jacub Zboril and Trent Frederick with the picks.

Aight now do the Max Pacioretty tree!! 🙃 just kidding..! But WAOW that one was worth the wait!! Gotta say that at the time, Josh Gorges was one heckuva underrated defenseman. Often led the league in blocked shots. About that time, Jake Allen was playing in Montreal in the QMJHL, where he was basically a superstar. He was compared a lot to Carey Price, as a matter of fact. Never dreamt of seeing him in a Habs jersey back then! And finally, having Debrincat in Montreal would have been awesome, sure, but given all the rest, I don't know if I mind all that much. Just an additional pointer, thank you for this awesome trade tree, and of course all of the others. If you need to brush up on some french, I would love to watch a game around a beer if ever you drop by Québec City. Awesome content buddy!!

I only bothered to bring it up at all because usually in these videos Steve will go out of his way to point out that sort of thing, but in this one he didn't really make that point and I was surprised.
