Trampoline kids have taken the decade old sport of Trampolining and bought it to there back garden under the name of Gtramp. The evolution of this sport has been nuts, creating KZbin stars, competitions and bolstering the industry of trampoline parts - in today's video we explore how this all happened.

Amazing production, it’s great to see a high quality video done on gtramp! I think gtramp lacks some superstars on KZbin after Tanner hasn’t been too active over the years, and it’s getting less popular lately. This video almost gave me motivation to know how much potential it has, I’ve been doing my best to try to help gtramp get back on its feet through KZbin videos. Maybe it can be revived 🤔

Love the vid, I would definitely watcha wall tramp vid. Also in my opinion I feel like gtramp is gonna get sort of the same stigma that parkour has gotten with it's rise in popularity and that if you're a "normal adult" you shouldn't be doing it, which will probably lead to it staying an underground sport. Can't wait for next week's vid 🔥🔥

Tru. My main problem with this video is that he majorly under sells normal trampoline. I agree that g-tramp is really impressive but there’s something really impressive and beautiful about normal trampoline as well. He criticizes all the rules and regulations when that’s what makes this different from g-tramp. Just because there are more strict rules doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing it just means a different sport. You can also tell he didn’t do much research on normal trampoline because he says “you normally land on your back or your stomach during normal trampolining” which is just not true. 1 3/4 dive barani ballout, three quarter back Cody, so many examples where you land on your stomach or back.

By now I'm on the edge of my seat everytime you release a vid because you might just dig up another rarity within the realm of niche sports to shine your light on. I've been interested in gtramp for a very long time, as someone who began with gymnastics, but enjoyed the trampoline far more than any other apparatus, but also loved KZbin. My club had good Trampolines, not eurotramp but usable in competitions, and they didn't compete so there was much less emphasis on the rules as I was learning. I'm now at university, I love trampoline more than ever and I've been taught all these rules and go to Olympic style competitions, but this year someone who was a part of radial flipz (Tom Marchant if anyone knows him) and is INSANE at gtramp, joined the uni and it's brought back my love for the style of doing the better tricks, not just doing the ones you need for competitions. It's cool seeing this video because it does still feel pretty underground and it's cool to see the view from someone who (presumably) didn't have an early start and saw the rise of gtramp from an outsider perspective. People constantly join our trampoline club at uni that never realised it was a proper sport, and many don't join initially because they never knew it was an option, but on friend recommendation become hooked on the sport and tell their friends etc. but I definitely think it has a future. This comment is getting long so I won't fully explain that but if you look at parkour Vs gymnastics, it's very similar.

Thanks for this awesome vidéo :) I remember having my first 13' trampoline back in 2004. There was not a big community back then but me and my friend were hyping each others. We were already using the double bouce to be able to land some Double back & land some crazy misty & corck. We were filming on VHS and doing our own montage, too bad the technology to share with others wasn't there yet. I started flipping/Tricking again this year and i'm really happy to see how much the skill of the community have increased

G-tramp was my childhood, it's how I got started with flips. Started teaching myself flips on my garden trampoline back around 2011 and a decade later, it's helped me do coaching with kids/adults on freestyle gymnastics (basically freerunning) and trampolining. It was also my base for doing freerunning. I knew you would bring up the likes of xtr3m3flip3rs and Rasmus, gives such nostalgia to me from watching g-tramp videos in my early teens. Aw, I always wondered whether my big trampoline video played a part in the growth of trampolining, but you didn't mention it. In fairness, the "trampoline sickness" video uses tricks with style much more similar to the trampoline tricks people do nowadays. It's crazy how far trampolining has come. These guys doing those quintuple + flips have no fear. I can't even imagine keeping track of body position after more than 3 flips. Thanks for making this video Jimmy! Makes me feel like I was part of the birth of a movement, without even knowing it.

Ahhhh one of your last points really needs to be appreciated. So many people don't understand how much work we put into being able to flip. We don't just go on a trampoline one day and go "Yep I'm ready for a quad backflip I can only do a 360 but quad it is" we practice and learn to visualise and feel the trick before even attempting our sets. even now trampoline parks are getting heat again for being unsafe when just one kid out of hundreds if not thousands coming in, one breaks their ankle. I've been flipping since I was around 5 and I've gotten kicked out of parks for doing things as simple as a full to kaboom for being "unsafe". Then I've been told off from random parents that I'm being a bad influence for that as well. The people who put time into this sport don't see it as a sport, it's much more than that. Either way thanks for listening to my ted talk. Awesome video.

Cool video. I can assure you these guys were not the pioneers. People were doing this for years before youtube. My family bought our first trampoline in 1990, it was round with blue mats around it and black mesh. It did not have a protective net around it. This was in Canada and they were sold at Costco for years until they were banned and replaced with the less bouncy ones with the nets. I also had friends that had rectangle trampolines with white mesh that were more bouncy and more dangerous (Double bouncing on these versions could snap your legs) I was a skateboarder and snowboarder and me and my friends would spend hours progressing on trampolines, we would often push them next to swimming pools and do crazy dangerous flips into the pools. In retrospect this was super dangerous and we were lucky to not get severely injured. We had different names for tricks put I personally was able to land triple fronts, double fronts with 1440 degrees of rotation, double backs and double back 1080s. My friend who had a gymnastic background did a 4 1/2 front flip and landed quads with up to 1440 degrees of spin back as early as 1997. We definitely weren't the only ones doing it either. I remember we would often meet other people and invite them over for a session and their were other talented cliques. I think the main thing that led to the rapid progression was having peers supporting and pushing each other. After I went to University we sold our trampoline and I remember eventually all the good original trampolines had disappeared due to the fact the springs would rust and break and were not easily replaceable and therefore they became sparse. Eventually they were replaced by the netted ones that were less bouncy and you often needed a double or triple bounce to do anything remotely cool. I am glad to see the sport as resurfaced and I wish we had digital cameras back then. There was a lot of crazy stuff done that wasn't recorded or had to be recorded on some shaky VHS tape. Anyway great video. Subscribed.

Double backflips are all a mental game in the end, the first time I tried one i necked so hard because I was trying to spot the black bed of the trampoline but I spotted the net and opened after and a quarterish flips, but I can now do standing double back on a circle berg trampoline without any mental hesitation! You should definitely learn a double backflip someday into a foam pit, it’s the weirdest feeling for the first time but it’s so comfortable at the same time, hard to explain but you’ll know what I mean

the only dubs i've attempted are side and front, never landed. Been thinking to try some tramp after this vid

I tried double back and got it, but I necked a double front on my gtramp and broke my sternum. Now I don't really tramp anymore 😓

@@2005-toyota-corolla necking front flips are 500000000000 times worse that necking back flips because your neck can’t bend to save it, that’s such a pity tho, I hope you’re doing well ❤️

@@JimmyTheGiant you definitely need to, not only would it be a sick video people would enjoy, but the personal progression aspect will give you such a strong mentality, it’s really just a mental game if you know you have the height to double (or maybe even triple in the future, you tell me 👀)

We did double bouncing and double flips back in 2005 when we were 16. We even buried the trampoline so we could step in for a double bounce. Fun times 😁

Definitely interested to see your take on Trampwall (yes, trampwall, not walltramp please) I came from the parkour world and then got into trampwall 6 years ago, it’s been a wild journey and has actually become my career. I would LOVE to help you to make a good video telling the history and evolution of the amazing discipline of trampwall. Cheers mate!

We had a neighbor with a trampoline in NC back in 96. It was a pretty common backyard toy by then. In the 80’s the small personal trampoline was an exercise fad. Used to break out the dish soap and lawn sprinkler, slick up the big trampoline and play dodgeball with the throwers on the ground.

Thanks for this video 👍 I had a big trampoline in my yard in the late 90s. Quickly discovered the double bounce with my friends 🤣 We learned flips, front, back, twists, landing on your back and front and flip from there ... endless combos! Then we realized that if we jumped from the tree in the yard onto the trampoline we would get even more air! 😅 We basically had a blast for years on that thing. Long live the G Tramp!
