I was told by a maga person yesterday that you don't ever see a white person be the hero or main character of a movie anymore. I was like "Uh, yeah you do.". I've heard similar comments from people I've known a good while in just the past few months. Bigotry played a big part in Trump's support and people who voted for him based partially on their bigotry now feel emboldened to let it show rather than pretending. You are spot on about that..Of course there was a lot of hispanic and latino voters that supported him too mostly due to the overturn of Roe. A lot of ignorance about economics came in to play as well. I wouldn't have been surprised to see DJT eek out a win, but all the swing states, the house, and the senate, feels over the top, especially given that his support had decreased after J6, but it seems like fair win or not we're more than likely stuck with it. I would like to add the fact that voters perception is algorithmically manipulated at scale, social media influencers and corporate media has built in editorial/financial bias. Put together these create a dream propaganda machine that subtly radicalises people. They see the same message again and again from all the channels, all the commentators and all the posts they see online. When they talk to friends, coworkers etc, they all echo the same hearsay thus their reality is completely shaped at scale by the oligarchy which bought the control of all these information channels. An honest, well intended worker can start from a non biased point but quickly run into targeted content, essentially bait on key concerns or pain points that people have, and whatever content he bites on, will lead to similar content, more information designed to rile them up, to focus them on "who's to blame" with emotional arguments meant to keep him engaged in the funnel. He will like and subscribe to those that make an impression and that progresses them, reinforcing their own information bubble. Of course algorithms do not show opposing arguments, so misinformation becomes truth, and the bubble becomes an inescapable cocoon. They are indoctrinated to reject opposition, to utterly defend maga/trump, to only think în slogans, and to never think for themselves - why bother when everyone one they implicitly trust agree what is what. The brainwashing has been going for years, but only recently you have all these efforts completely aligned across media and social channels. Looks at romania: an unknown candidate parroting Trump slogans and spending zero in his campaign, wins first election round with huge TikTok campaign funded by Russia? In USA MAGA has taken root. Corporate money already corrupted enough institutions that when billionaire sponsor says "vote to dismiss impeachment" all Republicans bail him. Same with FBI and DOJ - several insurrectionists are in jail, but not Trump. Almost as if someone greased every corrupt wheel to delay and deny. I've said it before: Trump is the champion for MAGA, but he's little more than a puppet working to a greater design. The oligarchs subverted enough control of all institutions, that they are just directing a show - a spectacle where we are all playing a part unwittingly. I feel pretty sure that Putin and Musk helped as there were recorded calls with the three of them, and Putin repeatedly made calls (also recorded) reminding Trump of his debt to him for helping him win the election. I firmly believe that a thorough investigation is in order. No matter what, he is not qualified to be President (there are many legal reasons). I disagree that Harris and her people ran a perfect campaign. Kamala started out good talking about working peoples issues and how price gouging was causing high prices. But then she started doing what Biden campaign high paid advisors were telling her - not to go after big corporations. They also thought they could lose a big portion of the youth vote and others picking up disgruntled Republicans in the suburbs. How did that work out in that perfect campaign? Also campaign at rallies with the likes of Dick Cheney, and his daughter making many Democrats, who can’t stand neocon warmonger Cheney angry and turned off. Bragging about all the billionaires who supported her and bringing on Mark Cuban flopped miserably as well all that and other Democrats and independents off. I only voted for Harris because Trump was much much worse. It gets old voting for the least of two evils. Many voters that voted in 2020 just stayed home and didn’t vote.

I agree with Thom. We didn't establish associations between negative impacts to Americans and DJT. THAT is the key. Repetition which establishes associations in the minds of voters. It's all about associating bad things with the other guy and good things with our guy. DJT's whole propaganda routine is to associate words that have negative connotations with his "opponent of the moment". Furthermore, it needs to be kept simple. Dems go too broad and too deep.
