People like CJ Werleman, Audrey Truschke, and many others were displaying open Hinduphobia on twitter under Dorsey and Agarwal. What did change is that we are now allowed to respond to them in kind. That's how speech works. Of course, Elon should fully commit to it and not do the entire critic censorship thing.
