Other driver "pain points" include unsustainably low pay, a punitive rating system, unfair deactivations, offer throttling, tip theft, tip reversal, algorithmic discrimination, and labor misclassification. All so someone can have pretentious cuisine brought to them and left at the door without interaction like they're in solitary confinement.

Uber Eats takes about 30% from restaurants, forcing them to match their in-store prices with the Uber menu. To make up for it, many restaurants raise prices or create special menus. The drivers don’t see much of that 30%. After the 2020 delivery boom, there are too many drivers, and the algorithm picks the cheapest ones based on distance, time, and other factors to minimize operational costs.

I am actually a delivery driver (not Uber but for pharmacies) and yes, parking is absolutely the worst. Especially because my schedule is really tight and does not allow for any hiccups. I also don't get payed for delays. If my usual spots are not free and I have to drive around the block and to transport the boxes ther and back, that can easily ruin my day. And I even have a fixed schedule with the same pharmacies every time. Having to navigate through the city and always deliver different Restaurants and different Customers sounds horrible.

Ehehehe, I’m hungry now. I have not had the need to try uber eats quite yet and is really difficult to go get a bite to eat at decent restaurant with a good reputation. I personally would rather pick up my food than pay extra for a food delivery service, but then again when I think of ordering a pizza I would rather have the pizza delivered to me, so os is quite the same concept. So I have a couple of questions, why does UberEATS have a pickup option? Prices on Uber get inflated (I recently read that if you use certain discounted cards on there, they jack up the pricing for the individual 🤬), so wouldn't people just buy on the store or restaurant site instead for pickup? Also, how does UberEATS prioritize which orders a driver fulfills first, and how many orders can a driver have at once?
