How US Mausoleum Construction Firms Design Joints [Secure Joints Separate Granite Slabs & Walls]

In Chapter 22 of The Essential Buyers’ Guide to Private Family Mausoleums, you’ll learn what factors go into creating high quality mausoleum joints that safely and securely separate the slabs of granite. A slab of Granite is stronger than the material that goes into joints. So the fewer joints and less amount of material between the slabs is your goal.
High quality joints:
• Have smaller gaps between the granite slabs - usually 1/8” or less
• Require fewer joints due to the use of larger granite slabs
• Never touch the ground, so they don’t absorb damaging ground moisture
• Are sealed and epoxied so they won’t absorb moisture or deteriorate
• Use only high quality sealant
Poor quality joints result when smaller slabs are used in the construction, which require more joints.
Poor quality joints:
• Are wider, creating an unstable bond
• Use lower quality sealant and epoxy are used
