On today’s episode, I dive deep into the strategies that Vietnam used to defeat the global power, America.
I start the day off with some Muay Thai training in Ho Chi Minh City before riding one and a half hours out to the famous Chui tunnel area.
We discover the history together and I tell stories from the war, while crawling through some of the smallest tunnels in the area. I visit the gun range after the tunnels and shoot an AK-47 and the M60! Epic day indeed.

I just remembered when my school gave me a trip to Cu Chi (around the 2000s), and I tried the tunnel, I think it was smaller than it looks now. I witnessed some US man couldn't fit inside not because of their height, but their wide shoulder) I think to attract more tourists to get inside, they dive it a few to make the tunnel more easier with the size of foreigners. And at that time, some tunnel way they never show to the public (for some military reasons). Time's gone by, and now drone has completely changed the warfare formula as you can see in Ukraine, and so the tunnel itself does not have so much meaning nowadays as a historical place. So anyway, It's just a flashback that comes from my view and my experience. Hopefully, you have a great moment in Vietnam! Keep goin', bro.👍

Yes war is forever evolving, drones seem to have changed the battlefield, however I’m not sure they could be used in tunnels I’d imagine the use of men would still be necessary. Horrible job anyway, either way. Yes they said they widened the tunnels but the last section was original 🤷🏽‍♂️ it wasn’t as tight as I thought it would be though. Thanks for your comment 🙏🏻

A short trip from Sai Gon express ferry station can take you to Vung Tau a beach city where American soldiers went for weekend away from Sai Gon.

most people just think the vietnam side only fought with vietcong farmers but the north is a conventional army and they have really good intelligence services also, they have undetected spies working in the NYT and reuters(Phạm Xuân Ẩn) and many spies working in the south vietnam army that almost became the president of south vietnam(Pham Ngoc Thao) and special forces that bombed cia radars in Laos and sabotaged b52 planes in thailand

@@liam.richards yes i live in the US. lost in VIetnam were the ends of 3 empire. the mongol at the peak after conquered China and wants to go south but cant get past Vietnam 3 times and one of the Khan son died. the France after Dien Bien Phu's fall, The Archbishop of Paris ordered a mass, while radio performances were cancelled replaced by solemn music, public entertainment were halted. the public were realized that their empire is actually over(after german stormed france in ww2, the public consciousness were still in denial, thats why they want to go back to Vietnam after ww2 to show that there're still the empire). Vietnam lost was the US empire first lost and also took the innocence of the image of the US heroes defeated the evil of world(even though the Soviet did most of the job and sacrificed the most), talking about taking innocence, Ho Chi Minh was the Vietnamese leader and his name means the bringer of light, and people says the US is a christian nation, such divine comedy.
