Actually... There's not much to it, once you're familiar with the behaviour of these animals. However... I can asure you, he's been bit in past, or he's gonna be bit in the future. I'll bet he has one or two collegues who lost their lives while doing this "job".

They are going to restaurants to be eaten. I have been to Vietnam and lived there for 6 months over the time spent. They eat cat dog rat all insects and snakes in foods and wine tonics. Not to judge I am sure the American meat / food cycle is not much different or prettier.

They're defanged and completely harmless. That's why they're fed dead chicks. Most cobras won't eat anything unless it's alive and they kill it. They go through lots of snakes that die before they find the ones that will except dead food. They're starving and have no choice.

In Vietnam even though they eat a lot of the cobras, it will not become extinct. This is because they rear cobras in the paddy field to reduce damages cause by rats. This is only the collection center . It is a lucrative business considering the area under paďdy is large in Vietnam. Furthermore the blood is also in great demand in this region.

I don’t think these snakes are defanged. There’s too many . My grandfather used to handle cobras like this as he was a cobra seller and none of his snakes were defanged . Also, most cobras don’t spit venom
