This is what we call (in Spanish) aguardiente o cañazo, made of sugar cane juice as well. Very strong indeed.

I remember my grandfather's village, He used PALM 🍷 WINE for Akepteshi known as Vodka. Palm wine is more powerful than sugar cane 😜

Our aguardente in Brasil called Cachaça is made with sugar cane also. With it we make our national cocktail called Caipirinha that is now very popular in bars in Europe. 🇧🇷❤️

Hi Love! To see the sugar cream grass foliage left over was amazing! They could grind it down to use for compose to strengthen the soil. He has clay soil. Even after burning the sugar cane for fire, the ashes and those oyster shells can be used in compose. His sugar cane would grow a bit taller and thicker.

I make something similar here in Virginia, USA and we call it Moonshine. It's usually around 170 proof (85% pure alcohol) and I imagine his is just as strong. I am so jealous of the pure sugar! I am hoping to be in Accra next summer and I would love to try his Vodka! Thank you for adding his phone number! Keep up the good work!

@Maximum Football- Precisely ,this is what happens in a distillation plant in a factory for distlling alcoholic drinks. Fermentation, heat and specific temperatures . His is the same process but rudimentary to get the same stuff.

They use a lot different things to make the same alcoholic beverages too. Some of the people use palm wine, real sugar, corn maize, millet or any other maize.

I could chill with the locals away from my concrete jungle. What the are brewing is gin or rum , vodka is made from fermented cereal grain and sometimes potatoes. It’s Russian or Polish . The children were treat to eyes. Pure bliss. But the distillation there need to improve, so as to enhance the yield. The initial run should be tested by flame. Only when it starts burning with blue flame, it may be collected for human consumption. Also a lot can be done to grow sugarcane. The drums of fermenting juice should not be in open sun light.

In America we call his distillery a "stills. "The first bit of alcohol produced is known as the "heads" and it is not safe for consumption. Moonshine, white lightning, bootleg, and in my area we call it chalk. All will knock you on your butt if not respected.
