I took Undertakers involvement as almost this like ghost of Wrestlemania past coming to haunt The Rock for claiming himself as almost this higher power the “Final Boss” the end all be all guy and then Undertaker comes in and it’s like “Nope sorry you can never be bigger than Wrestlemania itself, WWE itself, and whilst you’re here remember you are on the Deadman’s hallowed grounds”

I think you missed the story there. Gunther lost because he got over confident. He started talking to Sami's Wife, played to the crowd, and instead of being the machine he usually is and putting Sami away, he let him linger. He lost because of his ego. It was a great story.

Gunther, night 2 Roman Reighn vs. Cody Rhodes, loved it cause it was like Bret Hart in Wrestlemania 10, where he lost a match against his late great brother Owen Hart, and later that night win the WWF championship against Yokunkzuna. 😀

Wrestlemania was great. I think the first night felt a bit off because the fans were cold and weren't as vocal but night 2 was amazing and due to the warmer weather; the fans were a lot more vocal adding to the experience.

I thought night 1 was 6.5 and largely because of the main event. I remember when I heard the tag match was 45 minutes not including entrances, I was like "that didn't feel like 45 minutes" which is probably the best compliment I could give. Night 2 was fantastic 10/10 It really cememented out with the old, in with the new and now let's see what the ride brings!

Not sure if I was the only one but in that moment when the Shield’s Theme and Trons hit I like exploded cause I thought for a split second it was Seth AND a returning Mox formerly know as Dean Ambrose in WWE but then I like came to reality and was like wait isn’t Mox still under contract? Then Seth hit the ring, and finally the realization hit me still an absolutely amazing moment and incredible storytelling.

Also to add to that Drew vs Seth match, to see Seth getting visibly emotional when Drew won and said “you f’ing deserve it” … really got me. It elevated that match for sure as you get to see the raw emotion

The only thing that I didn't get was using Taker in the main event spot with Rock. Austin would've been the better choice given his history at wreslemania with the Rock Loved both nights overall. Great mania!

I don't agree. I get scsa is more popular but the story is about the tribal chief and stone cold doesnt have to do anything with that. Undertaker has Wrestled Román Reigns in the past so is more fitting that taker is the one interfiering.

Cody finally finishing the story and conquering Roman and the Bloodline with Cena, Jey and Taker is one of the GREATEST moments in WM history, I got teared up when he looked up at heaven for Dusty and giving his mother the championship. We are in THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE ERA 🇺🇸

Id say as returning wwe fan to come back to watch wrestling to see the new era stars, that jimmy and jey uso dissapointed, i thought best matches was rey mysterio match, the damage ctrl match, the cody & reigns matches, and seth rollins drew match and logan paul match were actually really good.

Mostly agree with all the ratings. Baley vs Iyo really was a great match! Better than Rhea vs Becky, which I expected to be the better of the two. Some good fun matches throughout, Jey vs Jimmy was the only real disappointment. The tag match to end night 1 was fun, I absolutely loved how the Rock flaunted his power of being on the board, saying, "you count, you're fired!" That little dynamic really took the match to a higher level for me. Cody vs Roman was epic, they have great rhythm and chemistry in the ring. I loved that they gave them time to shine 1 v 1 before all the run ins. The run in's were fun and didn't take up too long of the match which kept the match from losing too much structure. Could have done without Cena's attitude adjustment on Roman but not a big deal. A Stone Cold glass break would have been legendary and we ALL wanted to see the Rock take and oversell a stunner BUT Undertaker was definitely the next best thing possible. Undertaker was always the leader of the locker room type of role and it totally makes sense that he would come back to keep Cody from getting screwed AGAIN. Taker being that last word for justice is pretty poetic. Then the nuance with Roman making that emotional choice to go after Seth was just legendary storytelling. The key to Roman's godmode was how in control and methodical he dealt with his opponents, losing that cool costing him the title was just perfect. I loved the whole match! Also I would totally watch a gear review video, great idea!

just amazing weekend just finished watching night 2 cause i had work and couldnt stay up to watch live so watched on wwe network Night 1 i felt was good night but not amazing night 2 i absolutely loved and it ended with Cody finishing his story loved John Cena coming back and the Undertaker coming back and choke slamming the Rock loved when R Truth thought he was in a tag match felt jey and jimmy fell quite flat kick after kick after kick

I felt similar about the Sami match, and it kinda ended suddenly from my point of view considering how hard it has been to take Gunther out in the past. I thought maybe I was out of bounds with this belief since I’ve seen some reviews glorifying the match, but I thought it was pretty good and I was slightly surprised when Sami got it.

For me, the one big flaw in Gunther/Sami was the commentary. They were telling a story of Sami being this underdog with demons to exorcise and never winning the big one … despite having won the IC Title on multiple occasions already, and having won the tag titles the prior year in the main event. The story being told felt like it was written for Chad Gable, and they just did a character swap without rewriting it for Sami.

What's your take on the WM40 arena? a lot of people say it sucked but I think because 2k plan on adding it to this year's game, I think it's by design. I hope they add it sooner rather than later. Also, I'm glad they didn't go the gimick route with the new day downloading the stage into the game or something. The stage kinda felt a bit of a throwback to past wrestlemainas. Edit: Clearly, this man hasn't seen rocky 4.If he'd been paying attention you would've seen the similarites, and triple H did say he wanted one of the stories to refrance one of the rocky movies. Sami vs Gunther was clearly it.

Both nights were just a lot of feel-good moments. Which felt kind of bland to me. Night 1 had 4 straight matches that were garbage starting with the mysterio tag match. 16 superkicks (I counted because I was bored) in the uso match, next was basically squashing damage control. Sammy vs Gunther could have been a lot better. Rhea winning was needed and made the most sense. Ladder match was fun. The main event tag match was what I expected and rock dictating things made it entertaining. Drew winning, again kind of a feel good moment but still a great match Damian cashing in made it better. The extreme rules match should have gone the other way and didn't feel like a mania match. AJ, LA was good for what it was. Logan walking out with the title was what should have happened. Orton and Owen's don't need the strap. Woman's title match was better than I thought it would be and Bayley is finally back on top. The main event was just what we all thought it would be. But it lacked big drama moments for me.

Night 1 was a 6.5/7 for me while Night 2 was a 10 imo. Night 1 pacing felt off at times but some matches didn't get to the next gear. Night 2 had perfect pacing and every match was amazing. Of course the main event was booked to perfection. Austin coming out would've made it even better but it seems like he just couldn't attend the show.

It was a great WM in terms of storytelling (of some of the matches). But if I have to do an overall review, it doesn't come close to WM 17 in terms of match quality and overall storytelling.

Thought the Shield Seth was lame and awkward. Just my opinion. Sami Gunther was my favorite of both nights. Seth Drew was fun buy 100 % predicted the finish with the Cash in. Iyo Bayley was a surprise masterpiece also for me.

I remember the particular one on a DVD with Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes in a steel cage. Does anybody remember who that announcer was? I believe Dusty Rhodes won the title at that event.

I love the undertaker but Roman didn’t break his streak and taker didn’t touch him anyways. Austin should’ve came out and confronted the rock. Still love seeing taker but we all knew how much crazier it would’ve been if the glass shattered

It did feel like Becky wasn't able to put on a true WM level match. I do wonder if this was her swan song with WWE. Great pop for Awesome Truth, also helped get the belts off of the combo of Finn and Priest which set up the Day 2 moment for Priest. I really hope Punk becomes the new leader of Judgement Day! He needs something to sink his teeth into that doesn't involve actually having to wrestle. I just don't think his body can hold up to high quality matches anymore. Overall I think WM was solid with the final match finally having the big WM moments. Other matches weren't horrible but they weren't as great as they could have been. Happy for the post Vince Era of WWE!!! I felt like there needed to be a bit of that "UFC" type format for the RR/Cody match. Not that the match wasn't already sold but it would have been cool to have backstage promos from each guy. Especially coming off of the night before. Instead the match just came on. I do wonder if The Taker spot was meant for Stone Cold but he didn't want to do it. It would have made more sense and would have been even more epic. Taker being the next best thing is a pretty good second option. lol MPV of WM weekend = Seth. Best intro of the weekend too. I hope he got a huge payday into this bank account and he def earned some much needed time off to heal/reset.

Stone cold coming out would have been MASSIVE but I see why they didn't do it. Would have felt forced at that point but as a fan, still would like to have seen it. Glad Cody FINALLY finished the story. Overall, a great weekend of amazing storytelling. BTW, Samantha is the Bruce Buffer of ring announcing. She absolutely KILLED IT!!!!
