Quality show michael, just had to change board on gotway msp super, did a test myself to find the same results, trolly handle us were water 💧piles in , mspro has seals round speaker 🔊so not as bad as the Rs... one thing learnt is don't ride them in heavy rain with out a mudguard and as you put it the water has no were to drain!!!! Keep up good video...

Thanks for watching . Agreed i also have the MSP and the waterproofing is much better than the early RS i hope they will fix it down the line.

Under normal riding conditions i doubt that it can get to this level...Thanks for watching!
@stephenevans-2paradox7672 жыл бұрын
All of that can be prevented with minimal time and effort with creative thinking. Should it have been sealed better and designed better? Yes. To me, it’s no deal breaker because I can fix it and then the wheel is darn near perfect except for the range.

@TheEVside3 жыл бұрын
so for the most part it is good but the part where the speakers or trolly handle is the issue. i tend not to ride in wet but if you get stuck in weather its good to know, thanks.
@Fantaman9004 жыл бұрын
from a design perspective the trolly handle needs its own channel compartment, water in from top, water out at the bottom. Also speaker holes not sealed but a bead of silicone kit can easily fix that.
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
Correct! They have to think it through before designing it though. with the current design i think with ease of installation

Great content! Do you have any advice on how to protect the bearing from water from riding on wet ground or shallow snow?
@MichaelMutai3 жыл бұрын
The data on what exactly happens to the bearing is all over the place,snow, salt , water, dust....but in my opinion it will come down to some sort of great or 3d printed parts or both

Hello, great video ! How does the MSP HS compare in terms of waterproofing ?
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
My Msp has a gasket around the speakers and that works great.Water goes into the wheel through the trolley handle though.
@MGSSnakeEater1004 жыл бұрын
This is the first time I saw a EUC taking a shower on it's own, lol. Nice experiment man, even though it was risky. Reguardless I was going to use Gorilla tape. Since water made it's way through the trolly handle, I guess that applies the same for Sherman's Trolly handle.
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you just have to try this things.....but this was extreme its hard for this much water to get into an euc.....its just that if the lil goes moist and leaves all options open.......

After watching shower part....so this test is, will your EUC survive rain if you left it our side. Cos when you drive at 20km/h+ this amount of rain wont even hit your rig and will hit at angle....so i think that this amount of water that hit upper part ofEUC would not hit while you drive EVER! Im looking for a good rainproof EUC for my self, but this test kinda didnt cut it. :)
@MichaelMutai3 жыл бұрын
This was static test ,but as you have noted the parameters that come into play are totally different.This may make it easy or not easy for water to go into the wheel but my point was to show the possible entry points for water into the wheel.From my riding experience with the RS for far it holds pretty well when riding in light rain.Am not a big fun of playing chicken with storms yet.
@martinsdaugins21163 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelMutai Yea, im just angry there is not many tests onroads. Ive read on reddit that one duded RS-19 fried up bcos of water build up inside....he drove in light rain for a moments week ago and all of a sudden it shorted out. So im trying to find as much videos as possible with best water resistant EUC's. Leaning towards vv11 or v12 as one has ingres rating of 5 other 5 for shell and 7 for batt compartment.

There are so many problems with RS. But they should focus on bearings first because the problem of the bearings is the NO GO for most of the riders.
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
Will see how long the bearings hold up....
@NikiHunwick4 жыл бұрын
Have you compared the sales of the RS against the Failures of the bearings in RS? Be interested to know the numbers since it seems like everyone Is just jumping on the bandwagon calling Gotway and these bearings out. Only a select few seem to have issues

You wrote "I didn't tighten perfectly" at 13:16 Does this mean you did not tighten that side panel down enough, like it would be, typically? If so there no surprise that this side is wet and inturn just completely voids the experiment. Good idea and very brave doing this for the good of the community but felt the execution lacked what was needed in order to provide any reasonable results.
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
When i tightened the side panel there was a lil gap on the left side...i realised later when i closesly looked at the footage....as for the results personally i got the data that i was needing....

Interesting video. It might also be interesting to see whether water gets in vie the wheel arch when riding through puddles etc. The usual worry with these hollow motors is water entry around the bearings. It might be a little messy to allow the wheel to free spin when in the bath with shallow water but maybe you could rig something up outside?
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
A guy sent me this link.The Russian dukes have some interesting data about the hollow motor experince ecodrift.ru/2020/11/23/ekodrift-snova-naprudil-v-shtanishki/
