Nothing new. This model has been around for decades. I work for a local authority, and I know many 'agents'' who take on properties on a 'guaranteed rent' also known as 'rent to rent' breach planning and licensing regulations getting ultimately landlords in trouble with fines and prosecution etc. Unfortunately a lot of the lettings agents have little knowledge to no regards for the law.

I also work for local authorities. Not sure what you’re talking about? Landlords give their properties to local authorities but receive crap and low rent money. Not even worth it but not all Landlords are willing to work on their properties knowing how disgusting council tenants live.

1) Find a profitable niche in rental arbitrage - he found corporate house share in London in high demand x10 in London compared to anywhere in UK. 2) He found landlords who were willing to hand over their properties with HMOs licence 3) He created a high end product - high quality rooms with great amenities 4) Was honest, consistent and built great relationships 5) This lead to more Contacts being referred both landlords and tenants This allowed him to scale and grow - MashaAllah! Highly educational and motivational!

Now I think that selling your business is not a good idea. Who's going to buy it? Someone very rich, probably a megacorp, who already owns huge lot of other things. That amount of money means nothing to them, and in return they would get even more control and power. Also, they most likely going to transform this business in something that is not halal anymore, for example by introducing riba. You, on the other hand, would lose a halal business, people that work in your business would lose their halal jobs and customers would lose halal places to stay. If you try to boycott let's say, companies that support evildoers, you would see how rotten the system is, and how large their market share actually is. I think we shouldn't contribute to that by selling our business to them. And instead we should keep our businesses and give more opportunities to our brothers and sisters to earn halal money for themselves and their families.
