The Audi engines are a good choice for Europe, Asia and pretty much anywhere else except the US. For the US market, the GM LS series V8 is the undisputed king of engine swaps. There's an ENORMOUS ecosystem of aftermarket support for the GM LS series of V8s, complete wire harnesses, exhaust headers to fit any application, standalone and unlocked GM ECU/TCUs, blocks, heads, crankshafts, and literally tens of millions of donor motors, both aluminum and iron block, in addition to brand new "crate motors" direct from GM. Crate motors are fully dressed engines (heads, intake manifolds, etc) that are prebuilt and guaranteed to deliver a specific HP/TQ figure, and are intended for project cars like the Stealthbeetle, and there's a huge pool of garages and tuners who have experience swapping LS engines into non GM cars. LS swaps have been the American gearheads go-to since the introduction of the LS1 in 1997.

Please comment on the top 1-2-3 pro's and con's of the Chevy LS V8 versus the Audi V8 you've been using so far. I would ignorantly guess that the Chevy is decently powerful, a little heavier, and also less expensive.

Why? We run 10's in the quarter building up VW 2110cc. Waste of time and money But you can say you did.
