N55B30O0 internals are just as strong as a B58/N54! M235/M135 LCI have forged crank with s55 rods & bearings they’re good for 700+whp stock block no issues nice to finally see more people pushing this platform! I’ve got a closed deck N55 M135 & it’s an absolute beast waiting for my 9180 🤪

N55s in the m135i/m235i come with a s55 forged crank but stock main bearings and same rods all n55 get, but the m2 and f26 x4 m40i n55’s comes with s55 forged crank, s55 main bearings, rods that all n55s have, s55 pistons with different rings, also the m2 n55 is the only one that come with oil pump and sump from the s55 which is a great upgrade for any n55 at the track.

As long as it has been well maintained yes. I would still check and change your rod bearings prior to doing the big turbo

Not at all. Throttle boost cut still in place if boost goes over target. I just disabled the factory EWG and let the external one do the job. I also have PID setup on the haltech set to same closed loop boost target from DME into Haltech

Currently making my M135i safe and ready for the 3.4 kit, but mines manual, anyone recommend a clutch kit that can cope with these power levels? I’ve looked all over and the only thing people recommend is the 550i clutch but I highly doubt it can hold up to this level

@@sidneysmooth me and all my friends basically run a f10 clutch, fbo b58 with Tu pump on e40 making near 600 flbs and n55 on 24 psi on full e85 upgraded turbo no slip yet. Fbo n54 pure 600 turbos no problems. Auto haus has it cheap and it’ll arrive quick.

Sound like BS to me when you talk about "going past the limit where the engine is trying to break the rods" - sorry. The "engine" will only do that if ignition is advanced too much. There is no magical rpm for this. I do agree that torque and not rpm often is what breaks engines.

So for reg n55 you need to upgrade internals and get the upgraded crank hub bolt to avoid the crank from walking and spinning main Bering. This is for over anything over 550. So to make 700 go higher you need bigger rods and upgraded pins and forged internals. Then you swap the exhaust cams to the n52 ones. And then port the head and then arp head studs. And moving to m oil pump. So the bottom end is still an open deck. So to make bigger power you need to get the deck closed. And upgrade the oil cooling and meth injection e85. Change the HPFP and port injection. And standard FOB’s but after all that you could just get a cheap b58 car for the cost and slap a downpipe and tune and e85 and make same power. Why the n55 gets dumped on😢

I see all sorts of people blowing their B58'a at the 550-600whp mark. B58's stock turbo is good for 500whp, but 700? Surely that's a typo. Auto trans can only handle 600 anyway. And spun crank hubs are very rare on N55's, and usually only happen on the manuals.

@@rayland9305 so yeah the b58 can make over 700hp on stock internals. And yeah for that upgrade the turbo. And the transmission can handle more but not launching hard and a transmission tune for sure. But the cost the b58 is way better platform to build off or just fun daily and they make way more TQ at low end and better fuel economy. My x7 getting better mpg’s than my old x5 and much bigger car.

@@rayland9305 and yeah people will blow up if they don’t add fueling and extra cooling to the air and improve flow in and flow out. I bet a lot of guys don’t get the e85 mix right for the tune and hurt the engine that way. But the b58 is by far one of the best engines in the straight 6 category ever made. Only time will tell.

Plastic cracking everywhere, the entire oil filter housing warping needing to be replaced, failing injectors, oil filters disintegrating dropping bits of filter into the engine, and cracked pistons/bore scoring, coolant loss/coolant leaks everywhere etc. No thanks, I'll stick with my N55.

@@Cam-rd8zk that shit didn’t last what so over. The car was brand new 2011 with 40,000 miles on her. Took it to a shop called Eurompire and they completely fucked me. Had my car for 7 months when it was only a 2/3 week job. But long story short after 4 days of having it back it spun a bearing. Metal flakes all over oil and now possibly in turbo. 28k down the drain. Gonna need to get a new motor now and build this one and a new turbo kit as well
