Consider using aluminum tent poles with shock cord for your bimini. You can cut them perfectly to length. They'll pack down small but be flexible and super-strong.

When the weather takes a bad turn you need to get tucked in at a place where you can tie up till the weather clears and go a shore and dock the boat, is that what you do, you need a way to know when bad days are coming at you, stay safe people

Great work . This is one of the best jobs I've seen for this. There are a few other tricks, like fans for the salon and vent fans to get it to circulate old air out and new air in. And at least one, maybe two, solar panels. Maybe stuff to do when you get back.

Michal, when Joel zones out try using an ice bucket. You'll get much quicker results and Joel won't wonder why his face hurts. In your last episode, who won the A/B stitch contest? The results of your efforts really paid off as we can see in this episode. One donor really stepped up allowing you to make some really nice upgrades on the boat, plus you added some additional skillsets that will be valuable again in the future. Nice work!

FYI If you want to help keep your punches from getting dull sooner rather than later get a small square of sole leather. You want a 1/4q to 3/8ths or so thickness. Cut out a bit the same size as the wood block and glue it in place. You will cut smoothly into the leather and not dull the punch hammering it into the wood. You can resharpen the punch by spinning it with a drill and hold up a bit of high grit sandpaper to the bevel edge. Just a couple of seconds will do. The punch will sharpen right up. You might have to ream the inside of the punch just a bit to finish the edge but most of the time the sandpaper applied to the outside is enough.
@Bumsonaboat3 жыл бұрын
Awesome, thank you for the advice!
@patraic52413 жыл бұрын
@@Bumsonaboat My pleasure. I do a fair bit of leather work. After destroying two hand punches, and one set of tap punches I finally figured out how to keep from killing my tools in the first place and maintain them. Punches aren't the most expensive of tools but the aren't exactly cheap either for a good quality set. And there is nothing worse than hashing up a project because you can't make a clean hole. Which I have done. Fair seas.
