In Islam, marriage with blood relations such as marrying father brother's daughter as well as polyandry [more than one husband] are prohibited. Quran addressed this issue & allowed victor males of the battles to concubine widows or orphans, better than leaving them to their hapless fate but polygamy is permitted to resolve a social crisis & not as a licence to satisfy one's *lustful desires* with up to four women or uncountable concubines. When Quran was revealed, Muhammad Bin Abdullah had to play a triple role as national leader, social reformer & a legislator. Here as in other fields of social legislation. But he left this world before could play a decisive role in improving the pathetic condition of women.
