How do you get an adjoining room (preferably with a balcony) - we are a family of 6 and I have been wanting to do a cruise as a family but never felt we would be able to be in two room next to each other. Tips on how to get this type of room would be helpful.

We didn't book it online. We spoke with a booking agent that worked directly for the cruise line and then together we looked over the ship's floor plan to find adjoining rooms that also allowed the occupancy we needed. It was a lot of planning and even the dates and ship we selected were intentionally to ensure we had that setup. Booking well in advance helped so we got the rooms we wanted because those kind do fill up fast.
