Personally, I think the anchor point is probably going to be Happy Hogan. It'd be a nice meta way to celebrate Jon for getting the MCU started in the first place.

I was shocked that Wolverine and Deadpool didn't take on Origins Deadpool together. Maybe it would have been a step too far, but it felt like he would have been the obvious final boss of a certain scene towards the end.

~30:00 Not perfectly related, but this discussion around this timestamp made me finally put this into more succinct terms. In the Rewind for the first, Cap mentions the fact that Wade still gets everything he wanted even though he pulls the trigger. The second one opens with her dying as a direct result of him continuing to live by the choice to pull the trigger. Over the course of the film, Wade learns the value of family and putting his heart in the right place. He’s only ever finally rewarded by getting the girl, so to speak, when he learns to trust in family and to invest in family. To that end, it’s very fitting that his next decision is to join the Avengers. And his first decision when they turn him down is to retire. But for Vanessa to leave him after that is a massive failing of this movie, and its almost complete pivot away from the family motif (despite some window dressing with a Laura and Logan from different universes and an Xavier twin from another universe we never heard of that both try to hint toward family themes but ultimately go nowhere) is a huge disappointment. I’m actually surprised to have heard the whole panel agree it felt like a Deadpool sequel; I decidedly did not have that, because it abandons all of these points in favor of Wolverine fights. Which were fun to watch, but it wasn’t at all what I hoped it would be. It feels weird being the most negative response to a movie that I’ve heard thus far, this is a new experience for me 😂

My big thing with the car fight, it was my favorite part of the movie and when Wolverine is yelling at DP beforehand is why, that speech was maybe my favorite Jackman as Wolverine moment and because although he's ripping deadpool a new one it totally came from a character place where he wasn't talking about deadpool, he was talking about himself. especially with that final AND YOU CAN'T DIE moment and I was lukewarm on the movie and that line totally sold me on everything after it.
@MichaelMcCallister0975 ай бұрын
I think that was probably the best scene in the movie. Hugh Jackman sells it so well as always.

@@MichaelMcCallister097 he was fantastic. I was a little torn after watching this whether I liked him more in Logan or this. my favorite superhero movie is still X2, but in these last two the material made him play the character a little different and I think this one might be my favorite performance of his. I liked the movie, didn't love it but he was stand out great in it. maybe it's like they were saying and because he had a break, maybe it's what they specifically gave him to do/say I don't know but he was amazing. I was happy to see the suit too but I'm one of those guys who's complained about not having the mask my whole life but we finally got it and I didn't think it worked or looked good at all lol

I think that people take Deadpool's time travel too literally.. Think about it like this. When Cable time traveled, he only traveled through the history of the movie. However, Deadpool is a fourth wall braking character, so even his time travel brakes the fourth wall. He didn't just travel through the history of the movie, he traveled through the history of the franchise! That's how he got to X-Men Origins Wolverine. He even traveled through the history of his own life as an actor with that Green Lantern joke. That's how he got to the MCU, because he knows it's exists. He simply picked a certain time period in the MCU, specifically when they were recruiting for the Avengers, and Boom! he's there. Deadpool is a very zany character, you're not suppose to take it too seriously.

This movie has been given the responsibility of "putting MCU back on track", partially by the fanbase, partially by the marketing hype, but it really is just the third Deadpool movie, and I mean that in a good way. If you are like me and like Deadpool as a character and his previous two movies, you probably like this movie too. I at least had good time watching it. I'm not sure I want try to rank it, before seeing it again on home media, but my gut feeling at the moment is that the first Deadpool is still the best Deadpool movie, but the chemistry between Reynolds and Jackman (who, however you feel about him coming back after Logan, is killing it in this movie) gives this extra punch in the fun factor, making it the second best. And as far as "Was Deadpool watered down/MCUfied by Marvel/Disney?" goes, I would say this movie was tonally and even stylistically pretty on-line with the previous two. Like, if Fox had produced the third Deadpool with similarish script/premise, I feel the only meaningful difference is that this movie played the lore/continuity more straight than that probably would have.

~3:10:00 I guess what I’m deciding, if we’re talking head canon, is that there is another movie that’s never been made, let’s call it “Howlett”, that’s about Wolverine finding his unknown daughter, saving her from some creepy experiment dude that looks like he could rule all of Neverwinter-basically all of the movie “Logan” happens, except it happens in present day and it’s part of the Deadpool universe, as seen in the clips shown here. Meanwhile, Laura from the real Logan movie grew up, had a life, etc., and was killed by the TVA at roughly age 25? And she’s seen here. Thats the only way this works in my brain.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced Wesley Snipes came back to show that he's still got it and low-key put himself out there for another Blade film. Between the digs at the MCU, Ryan Reynolds getting Deadpool off the ground by fighting the studios in the first place, and the production hell the MCU Blade film is under, I think he saw it as his opportunity to go 'hey, look, I can still do this - if you change your mind, you know where to find me.' And after seeing the film, I think he might actually succeed with it

Cap if it makes you feel any better, my pop took me to see both Punisher movies when I was like 8 and 12 (different type of R ratings and he saw them both the week before he took me but still) lol having been watching for years Jayson seems super mature and level headed for his age. I always respect when a parent knows their kid well enough to gage what is mostly okay or not for them). when I was his age my parents watched through the sopranos with me, but my older and younger siblings had to have more of a protective barrier around what they watched or read then I did, so I understand.

Those actors playing his friends have nothing to do in this movie. They probably filmed all their stuff in a week, tops. It’s like they wanted them in the movie, but couldn’t bring them on the main adventure, so they’re all sidelined. I think Hugh Jackman gave a great performance, and the only emotional moments in this movie work solely because of him. I loved that they gave a reason for the yellow suit, and that it was a physical representation of his arc. Him accepting that he is THE X-Man was genuinely one of his best ever moments as this character. Really good stuff. That really good stuff made the sloppiness of the script really frustrating. I was concerned when I saw five writers credited in the opening, and the concerns were proven right. It feels like a series of vignettes more than a cohesive story. The villains didn’t do it for me, and that Act 1 drags like crazy until Logan shows up. I also wonder how that TVA stuff plays for people who haven’t seen Loki.

Cap, as for what you what you swear they will pay off I 100% agree, my wife and I were arguing about whether that would go anywhere and I was like there is absolutely no way that does not happen in Avengers 5 or 6. my crackpot theory is that Maguire or Jackman will die saving someone important or the MCU universe or something and after a few minutes of people mourning a la the end of endgame with Tony, or as a post credits we will cut to Deadpool and Thor and deadpool will have been involved or doing something else and it will be a joke that only Thor gives a damn, everyone else is crying for Tobey or Hugh and Deadpool is probably not actually dying but injured and only Thor cares because he will think he's funny and they will be buddies in the movie for a bit before we get there. like maybe deadpool disappears in the final act and we don't see him again in the rest of the movie and then the post credits will be he broke his leg or something but is pretending like he's dying and only thor cares lol it will probably also have a line where Thor says something like Wade, my friend I have to leave everyone else is crying for that guy, over there. (I can literally hear Hemsworths delivery in my head) and Deadpool will be like oh F him you didn't even know the guy I'm suffering over here and it will have the one allocated f word in the PG-13 movie. I don't want this necessarily I'd rather give Reynolds a real send off and have him move on but save this comment I will owe you $50 if it doesn't happen
