Good presentation on the trailer. I would recommend to do what I did to my trailer I had it rhino covered it's the same stuff you put in the bed liner of your truck Works will keep the tires from slipping. add a couple extra lights on the trailer in the back for better safety. Be safe have fun keep the videos coming. 🏍🏍🏍

Nice! you will eventually damage the rims with the hooks of the straps. Try putting a cloth on the rims first, it works!
@guzzialfa Жыл бұрын
I'd go one step further and tie down the front straps by securing the hook into one of the holders for them on the front of the trailer. Nothing but strap through those expensive mag wheels! Nothing but strap! My stars are those wheels expensive. Plus they change them every year so getting identical ones to your model 3 or 4 years down the road may be a fruitless endeavor. That would make me sad...hope you change the way you strap and don't damage your rims. Can you put a link up on how you mounted your spare? I really like that and would like to do just as you did there too!

Hi, so we are full time RV’s and we also have a Can AM Spyder. It’s exactly like yours. We never got around to getting a stinger trailer to pull it. But we did get a utility trailer. We just haven’t taken it with us. But seeing you guys taking yours I think we just might take it next trip. My husband was even talking about selling it, because we couldn’t take it with us and still take the vehicle. But after watching your videos I think we may just try taking it instead of the other. Thank you for the videos.

Great video on the Stinger. You made my decision easy. I was torn between a utility trailer and stinger. In my case folding at home is not a big point. However, you mentioned "possibly" folding at campsite was something to think about. The deciding factor was the ease that you moved the trailer yourself at the campsite. Thanks so much...

Thanks! We don't do anything to protect the Spyder and we don't have any damage to the bike. The tires on our RV are wider than the trailer and it blocks debris.

Great video on the stinger trailer.! Do you folks pull your spider behind the RV uncovered, or do you cover it when you hit the highway driving?
@WanderOpenRoads2 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 we tow the bike uncovered and we’ve never had an damage to the bike while towing, it’s totally covered being behind the RV and the front ramps in front of the bike tires handle any rocks that may be kicked up.

Great video, thanks! I'm waiting for delivery...we hauled it to Breckenridge over the weekend on a flatbed trailer. It broke free of the straps and slid to the front of the trailer. Thank God it didn't fall off and kill someone!!! Strapped and parking brake on is not enough to keep these in place. That's what I like about the design of The Stinger. Had all kinds of trouble loading and offloading...bottoming out, etc. Are you experiencing any loading/offloading issues with The Stinger? My appreciation in advance!
@WanderOpenRoads3 жыл бұрын
We haven’t had any loading or unloading issues with the Stinger. I did add some anti- slip tape to the ramps just in case we’re loading in rain or the bike tires are wet. The way that we strap the bike down, we haven’t had any issue although I have since learned that the bike is designed to be strapped down from the foot boards. After over 2 years and 15,000 miles on the Stinger, I’d still recommend it.
@bobharrington26643 жыл бұрын
Excellent video! It doesn't look like you tie down the rear wheel. Why is that? doesn't it jump around? I just put my order in for one .
@WanderOpenRoads3 жыл бұрын
No, we don’t strap down the rear wheel, that will actually void your Can Am warranty. We strap the front wheels and have started strapping down the front floorboards to the trailer for redundancy.

Good evening hopefully you are doing well. I have purchased a stinger can am trailer and I accidentally hit the wire case and separated the wires. I reconnected the wires and was unsure of where the red wire went. I connected the red to black and hooked the trailer to my truck and knocked out my rear brake and signal lights. Do you know where/what the red wire connects to? To open the box it has two Phillips screws on top of the box. Thanks for your help
@WanderOpenRoads8 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that… I’m not familiar with the wires you’re referring to or maybe I’ve just never had to manipulate them. Generally red wires are positive and black is negative so I’d try to match them up that way but I’m no electrical expert. I hope you can figure it out!
@mcgowananderson74058 ай бұрын
@WanderOpenRoads thank you for the quick response, i was hoping you were close to your yrailer so that you could unscrew the black wire box and share where the red wire was attached. I am preparing for daytona and wanted to make sure I didn't have any issues thanks again McGowan Anderson

Great idea to carry a spare tire for the trailer, do you also carry spare for the Spyder?
@WanderOpenRoads2 жыл бұрын
The Spyder has a different tire for the front and rear tires and it would be difficult to jack up because of the tire configuration. We have roadside service for our vehicles and they’ll bring whatever size and type of tire we need for our RV or truck. The trailer tire is a basic and easy change so we figure we’d tackle that if needed.
@theflyingfletchers71196 ай бұрын
What did you use to mount your spare tire onto the stinger trailer?

I’m interested in getting a Can am spider someday also as a tow vehicle. Did you ever think of purchasing a motorhome that is a toy hauler? Do you ever wish you had a car instead of the Can-Am? My wife won’t ride on the back of a motorcycle anymore. But I think she would be OK on the back of a Can-Am. Much more fun than a car.
@WanderOpenRoads2 жыл бұрын
All good questions… we bought the motorhome before the bike, so with hindsight being 20/20, we may have considered a Class A Toy Hauler, but they’re not many that we really like. Overall we love having the bike as our toad because the experience of exploring new areas is so much better on the bike. We generally do our long trips from spring to early fall so the weather is always pretty good. We’ve been rained on a few times but with the Can Am storage, we always have rain gear with us. There’s never a perfect situation unless you can put your bike in a toy hauler and tow a car also with your RV. We really love our Class C so I’m not sure if it would be worth it to us to have another rig just for the purpose of having a garage for the bike. If we ever end up replacing the trailer or the rig, we’ll definitely have a lot to think about. 🤔
@theflyingfletchers71197 ай бұрын
I did end up buying a Can-Am spider and a motorhome. Now I’m thinking about a trailer. Have you had any problems with that trailer that you own? I’ve looked at a lot of different types of trailers, but I think that might be the best because I could maneuver it in the campsites by myself, if the campsite is tight, which, sometimes they are very tight. I know there’s no leaf springs on that trailer, so has that ever been a problem for you? Have you been able to tow that trailer at at least 60 miles an hour?
@WanderOpenRoads7 ай бұрын
We haven’t had any problems at all with the trailer and we drive normal highway speeds, 65-75 mph towing the trailer with no problems.

We’re definitely still happy with the trailer and we’ve had no issues since we’ve had it. You just can’t beat the light weight and portability. My only concern was if I’d have rocks, etc from the road hitting it since it’s an open trailer and I’ve seen no damage at all. We’ll probably do a follow up at some point, but right now, no news is good news!

I would not even "unlock" the hitch (or remove lights\chains) until after unloading the bike. And have the hitch "locked" before loading the bike. I have seen 3 dif people pop the trailer up by just sitting it on the hitch. Slight damage to bike once and flipped the bike once. All trikes. And no not me.
