Albion One was my first Spitfire purchase, and definitely a life-changing one. I have since then bought Tundra, EDNA Earth and Solo Strings (+ LABS) which has opened the door to a whole new world of sounds. I have literally put off finishing 2 pieces for a year or so until I could afford buying Albion because I knew the end result would be much better that way. Paul, Christian, thank you so much!

I remember (and still use) the original Albion. Stu Kennedy was doing a talk at a screened music event and demoed it. At that time I didn’t have kontakt. Once I got back to the studio I bought komplete so I could buy Albion - absolutely fell in love with the beauty of this library along with its slightly rough edges :) Albion one is lovely and sorts out some of these rough edges whilst keeping the beauty of the original. Love them both. Great video - lovely to hear the story

im doing music production now for almost 10 years. last year i started orchestral production. albion one was the entry for me and i couldnt have been a easier and better entry into the world of orchestral music composition. i started, ironically in january 18 and just finished upload my first split album very recently. over the course of last year i also bought albion v, which is just an immense work of art, i bought the entry level symphonic strings and cinesamples brass library. i also learned lots and lots of stuff in music theory, music production, classic music and lots more. through doing it, through watching tutorials and mostly watching spitifire stuff or especiall your videos! so thank you very much for this! i cant wait to learn more, do more and create more, but this is a massive THANK YOU to the work youve been doing! keep it up

Just reposting a comment of mine, from the trolling thread; Having the baker-come-composer himself tell me that he doesn't have any of the stereotypical entry requirements for the industry, and seeing the success that has been built there did more for me than most other advice combined. All of it I have ever had. You're the only person on KZbin I think I'm actually arsed about meeting, cause you changed a lot for me, through your rants, down-to-earth insights, subtle call-outs of what would be bad habits for myself... The list goes on, mate. I can't say thank you, I am a composer because of you, yet. But I'm fucking trying. You can take credit for that. Not bad for a chancer.

Loved the story. :) I don't have too many of orchestral libraries as I do electronic music mainly, but I needed one that would be my "oh, I might need an symphonic section here" thing and oh boy, Albion delivered. Bought the legacy one first, gladly upgraded to ONE. (Still keeping both on my drive. :) ) It's so versatile you can, as many have said here, use it again and again with not much of orchestral fatique. ...well and if I ever manage to get to some scoring work that'd pay for it, I'll definitely stop by and grab a few more libraries. You guys are just awesome. :)

What an amazing story! Thank you for sharing, it's inspirational as well as practical. I discovered Spitfire Albion sometime between 2012 and 2014, I was living in Tanzania and scoring our first feature film, and at the same time learning vfx; Zach King tutorials lead me to Andrew Gerlicher, as they'd teamed up for a freebie of Movie Voice and some trailer music, using: Spitfire Albion, and as a Brit, born Weymouth, I thought, anything with those to iconic names has to be @#$@% good! and the name itself evoked such imagery! I grew up on Commando comics, and the Spitfire stories were my favorites, Nan n Grandad told me all their blitz stories, their church bombed the day before the wedding, etc. I love this video! Congratulations, and it just goes to show what can happen if you have an idea and follow it through, dealing with obstacles and hangovers along the way.

You know any reason why there would be a problem with a M Audio KS 88 keyboard not being able to properly play the legato patches in Albion One? Other patches are no problem. The problem isn't with the patches as they all play fine with the virtual keyboard in the Kontakt player window. All the patches have lag or delay and are choppy with the keyboard. In the case of the brass legato you can have on high or mid brass and press one key on the KS 88 and the patch is somehow changed back to the low brass patch. This doesn't happen with another Roland KB I have. Maybe its time to get rid of that MAudio KB if its defective. Just wondering why this happens only with the legato patches. Thanks.
