This video is pretty old you can watch the updated version here: • Making a Vertical Wall...
In the last year we've sold around 1,100 wallets. The No.52 has by far been the biggest crowd favorite. So per request, I filmed a quick video to give a little behind the scenes look and show you how we make the Vertical wallet.
You can buy a finished Vertical wallet here: www.stockandba...

Its stuff like that that infuriates me that I didn't think of it and its brilliance. An old wood glue bottle would be perfect. Lays a flat patch of glue and a closer is built into the cap

When I first saw this I immediately purchased the glue bottles. It has been such an asset! This has been a total game changer and has made applying cement SO MUCH easier! Thank you for the tip (and for putting a link in the description). Your videos are tremendously helpful!

I have watch most of your videos and blogs and fell in love with your products you make. Just this weekend I finally had it with my mass produced faux leather wallet and bought myself one of your No. 68 'Buck Brown' Western Vertical Leather Wallet. It was a hard choice between the No. 52 and the No. 68. I like the western look of the No. 68 wallet and went with it. I can wait to get it in my hands and be amazed at the craftsmanship and quality in person as I have been watching you make them on your vids. Thank you for your vids and the awesome products you share with us keep up the great work.

Hello, I love this wallet. I really do. I'm a beginner leather crafter, and I'd love to make this, but 25 dollars for a template is very high. Most places do 5-10 dollars. I think you would get more sales on the template with that price. I love your work, and I hope for the best. Thank You!

Wow, that is really good work. I just started getting into leather work. My mom gave me a massive storage chest full of different types of leather, leather working tools, threads, wax, stains, glues, etc. So I'm really excited to start with that.

I love that you actually use a sewing machine for stitches. It just looks better and yr not punching holes bigger than you need to. I would start and end the stitches on the thinnest piece of leather (the outside piece) for a stronger stitch hold.

My Mom and my sister gave me mine and I love it. Everything is right about this wallet. The cards fit perfectly and I can fold my bills in half instead of in thirds like I had to with my other card wallet from another maker. I wouldn't change a thing about it. And thanks for the videos, it's cool seeing the process.

Quote "I don't see the justification in the price". I was thinking that as well before I got my Cowboy 4500 machine and started making a similar (IMHO better) wallet design (pattern from the internet). Your stitching is better than mine but mine will be more heavy duty I believe since I pass it over with more stitching (I use Tex 270 thread and an #26 needle I believe as it came from Neel Harness and Saddlery). I got the machine just a week ago or so. If anybody Protests about this guy then consider this: It takes me 2 hours and 50 minutes to finish 1 single wallet (Start to finish. I dont glue parts on). I sell them for 15 US$ roughly (I never sold one but I offered a known Person one for 9 US$ but plan to sell them for at least 15 US$). I live in Southamerica and in this country 1 square foot of leather costs 2.25 US$ (it's a bit thick for wallets but more heavy duty it will be). I just leave the edges as they are and dont buff them out like the guy does. So before you critisize it is a chore of work to do a wallet and it's easy to mess up when you hurry up or put the parts on wrong side and have sewn it on. For american pricing a Price of 30 US$ I would consider normal. His stitching is good guys and that means something. Good Job and kudos!

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with the world. I lost my job almost two months ago and I decided to work with leather, which is an old dream of mine. Well I almost have everything to start but the saw machine, that's an expensive thing. Would you suggest to buy a new one? a second hand one? which one would you say is the best to start? I want to do back packs, as well as wallets and maybe some women purses (...I don't know if I should dare, lol). The arm sawing machine is a good option? Wait for an answer, thank you ! Javier

Hello. Great videos. Love seeing and having the detailed explained. Question, I understand you are using 3/4 oz weight leather, how do you get the leather so stiff? Is this a spec item when you purchase or a process you do? The leather I have seen is quite flexible and not suited to my projects. While the leather in your video seems perfect. Thank you,

With all things considered such as the craftsmanship and the materials, how are the wallets so cheap?
@whitandpark
@whitandpark 5 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you have that perspective. Most people ask me why they're so expensive. But for those who are familiar with handcrafted leather goods we're actually at the lower end of the spectrum on price. Most of that is credited to the fact that we cut out the wholesale margin in our prices. So we no longer sell to retailers and stores, and we put all our focus on selling directly through our website so that ALL of our customers get to buy our products at our wholesale pricepoint. Or in other words, direct to consumer pricing:)
