Thanks Brian and Maricel. One of the many, many reasons I appreciate and enjoy this channel is that there are no catchy "clickbait" video titles , like "Shocking News!" or "Hot Updates!". The titles are plain and true. This video is an example, "How We Meet". Just perfect.

Airports in the Philippines suck especially in the arrival area where airline passengers pick up by friends or families are in a limbo trying to locate them. I hate it when you arrived at the NAIA and waiting area is outside. Not like the airports here in the United States. People picking up passengers can wait at the baggage claim area and they usually get there before the luggages.

Brian and Maricel, Met mine in the US. Neither of us had been looking for twenty years and were in our 60's. She got in a take charge mood after a year or so . She met me half way home from work one day and we diverted to buy wedding bands and get the licence. I told the girl at the jewelry store we had to get married because she was pregnant and was asked if it was to be a girl or boy. Remember we were both mid sixtys. The priest wanted assurances we would raise our children in the Catholic faith being that I a presbyterian. Did I mention... we were over 60. Anyway we got married after Sunday mass to a full church of witnesses on first Sunday where people bring food and cake for fellowship. We came for I was told a 3 week visit to see where she grew up with airline return tickets that were dated nine months later. There was family land available so we decided to put up a cottage to avoid the winter cold in the US. The building is still a work in progress at 27 rooms and four winter seasons later. Living in Maragondon Cavite provence. I am putting pins in a google-earth map of Bohol. How about a video of longitude and latitude coordinates for your place, Phillip and Beths place, and Terance and Beth. george and aurora

Nice story and similar to mine. My partner is from Mindanao as well, though lives in Cebu, and told me if we went there she'd stand in front of me and take a bullet if we were attacked. My comment of "what if he shoots twice?" didn't go down very well ;-) I have travelled to Mindanao with her, amongst other places, and it's a lovely place with lovely people, you do however need to rely on local knowledge and go with people you know have your back in some areas. Manilla airport is truly horrible, Mactan is far nicer and the one I use now. I've been to Bohol and envy you, hopefully retire to Ph in the next 2-5 years. you both seem like very nice people, good luck and Happy New Year.

I truly belive there are good men and women in every race. It just hard finding the right one and someone times it takes more then once to find the right partner. And to make it work it takes 2 people to put the effort into it and both to respect each other and to sacrifice to make it work and both must have the same goals in life to truly make a marriage work. If only one is making the effort to make it work it will always fail. And brian and Marecil what i have seen by watching your videos you are both good for each other and the by the love and care you show to each other. And i wish you all the best.

Your story is very similar to ours we talked for months before meeting up. I originally was talking to a few ladies but like you what swung it for me was the fact that this particular lady had never asked for anything from me. Could I ask what part of Mindanao Maricel originates from. My partner lives in Sta Cruz but we have traveled down to General Santos on many occasions as well as further south to places like Tupi and Koranadal. I must be honest I know there are dangers for foreigners in those regions but personally I have always felt safe.

Was in Philippines just March of 2018 and, thankfully, they seem to have removed the ability for all the locals to wait around to carry your bags, etc. I know some of these people are simply trying to earn a living but some were a bit in-your-face and I was always worried about pick-pockets before also. Now there are a lot less people hanging around and offering unwanted help. This kinda thing can ruin the start of the trip, whereby you feel set-upon. It was actually worse, though, when I visited the pyramids in Egypt. Beggars (selling useless trinkets) standing in front of you blocking your way, as you walked from the bus area to the pyramids. Ruined the trip because when you ignore them or say you'e not interested, they get more forceful and one guy even got aggressive after I put down the trinket he forced into my hand. It's was not that bad in Phils, but they see a white person, and they think you are rich....also you stand out as a target if there are bad people around...so be careful. In some areas the rebels have kidnapped people
