Your holistic approach to your pastures is admirable, and you’re setting a good example for other bison ranchers. You’re providing the grasses the bison grazed hundreds of years ago, the grasses they were meant to graze. And this is what you were meant to do, Dusty. Your bison are some lucky animals! Oh, and the persimmon/bison snacks sound delicious. My grandmama used to make persimmon pudding, my favorite dessert ever!

I read somewhere “You can make a bison go anywhere it wants to go.” Clearly the author of that line has never met you, Dusty! You have trained your herd well. I had my first bison burger today, and for anyone who is on the fence about giving it a try, it tasted better than high quality beef! I was pleasantly surprised and will be purchasing ground bison in the future. Just know, you cannot cook it like you would beef, or you will not be pleased. There is in fact a learning curve involved. Love watching these Bison!!!

First of all I watch you almost every day. You have a perfect voice for it. I love to watch you move the herd. I love when you call them by name as I can't see their numbers so it is hard to keep track. As for Big Joe, I love that guy. When he sticks his big ol head in the ATV it cracks me up. Also when you sat and waited for him to lumber into the area that everybody else was you could see his personality. I think he was saying, "I will get there eventually"! Keep up the vlogs and I will keep watching. I have to have my daily dose of Big Joe, Peaches, Elenor and the rest.

I lose the sense of how hugeous these animals are, until Big Joe sticks his head into the front seat of the ATV and it takes up ALL the space! He's a large lad! Love the drone shot of the herd following you you, and the (I assume) yearling in the next pasture following along the fence line, no doubt wishing they could join the big herd. That is a big move to do all at once. It just shows how well your animals trust you and heed your calling. Nice to see Maya taking her rightful place, riding shotgun with you in the buggy. Since her natural tendencies are to herd, have you considered getting her a little training to hone those traits so she can help you with those times you're moving them? And it's always a good thing to see the Princess getting a little bit of time with you. She's such a sweet and calm girl. God bless you both, Dusty.

Great land management 👍the bison traveled anyways on the open plains, the native Americans used to purposely burn the grass to bring in nice tender grass to lure the buffalo back for hunting. those drone shots of the herd are fantastic..... Do you have any frameable pictures available? It seems they know they’re moving! And are ready to follow you,…..oh my. With the scene from the drone that’s a lot of bison stretched out . That was a long way… after some grazing they will find a special place to bed down after that run. It is lovely there. We had a persimmon tree near the fence of ours. I ate the fruit from it. What you are describing was the dish My ancestor, Jesse Chisholm had eaten at his place in south Ok/KS and got very ill. A friend came by and found him near death. He is buried in a field out of OK city going west. There is a nice marker at the grave site. His cousin John Chisholm cattleman is buried in Paris TX along beside his parents, Clairbornes. Jesse was older than John. Our family were very close to the natives, Jesse spoke 9 different native dialects.
