Bucerias is beautiful but a little too expensive for me. I have been living in Mexico for 2 1/2 years and traveled to 7 Mexican states within the past year. Bucerias was on my list, but I did not get a chance to make it there. I’m glad you found your spot to live as I have. Mexico is a beautiful country!

We finally got around to watching this video last night. Great job Paul and it was really nice to hear more of David and Janice's story. My wife and I love being at Quadrant and the walkability into all the great restaurants of Bucerias. We also didn't rent before we bought and were worried we were making a mistake, but so far three years and counting it's been one of the best investments of our time and money we've ever made.

I really enjoyed the interview... very nice people! My aunt and uncle lived in Canada until they both succumbed to different types of cancer. The thing they really disliked the most was the Healthcare and the long waits between treatment. My poor auntie had such bad pain with her cancer, there were times when the long waiting lines were simply too much for her, but the lovely people in front gave up their space to her... anyways I got off track a bit there, but what I wanted to say is that right now at this time, I believe healthcare in Mexico is FIRST RATE! it's much quicker, the prices are more reasonable for me and my family even with our insurance we have large deductibles and co-pays that more expensive than the TOTAL price in Mexico where we live during Winters'... So yes. thanks for the reminder of how good we have it! :)

I met a realtor from Regina at a time share presentation at Grand Miramar Luxury Suites near Conchas Chinas. It was in September 2020 during Covid restrictions in San Francisco, and my profession did not allow me to work remotely. It seemed like business was slow as it was outside of tourist season. Was glad to get back to Zona Romantica and away from sales agents. Have another trip to Sayulita in October and hope the hurricane season is gentler this year. Friend with house in San Blas moving back to San Francisco for prostrate cancer treatments. Wondering how this can be done in Puerto Vallarta as I know so many friends coming down with cancer. Life happens when you’re making other plans.

Great video. We’ve the same story as them, though we’ve not moved permanently. Our building is mostly Canadians, and a mix of Americans and Mexicans. The café in our building is briefly shown at the 9 second mark; Haha! Very informational. I also love that Bucerias has so many Canadians, and we have them to thank for the abundance of sports bars showing hockey games. Great town, great video and great culture.

There was a major bit of misinformation here. When you get approved in Canada, they put a one-time entry Visa in your passport and you have 6 months to get to Mexico. Once you arrive in Mexico, you only have THIRTY days to get into the immigration office. Plan on staying at least a month to allow for processing time. I don’t know why he said it was difficult. I just asked my financial advisor (banker) to prepare and stamp twelve months of statements for me to take in. I also don’t know why you’d pay for a facilitator. You just print and fill in the Tramate online. That’s a form that tells why you’re visiting the immigration office. Even if you find that hard, I found the staff at immigration very helpful. The staff will instruct you through the next steps.

Hola Paul and Daniela y bienvenido a Mexico Dave and Janice! Hope all of you are doing well. That includes the new addition to your family!! It seems you two have a great mind set and are going to get used to things down here really quick. Enjoy your adventure and be sure to smell the flowers along the way. Just a quick correction...After you get approved for residency from wherever you are coming from, you have 180 days before you have to go to Mexico and finish the process. Once you get into Mexico you have 30 days, not 180, to finalize things at INM. Another important thing to note is that after you get approved and enter Mexico be sure to tell the person attending you that you are coming into Mexico to do your "canje" or exchange for residency and show them the large stamp that the Consulate put in your passport. Otherwise they will stamp your passport as a tourist and you will have to start the whole process over again. BTW-You should have mentioned the cost of your medical experiences. I have nothing but good things to say about the medical services I've recieved since moving here, from teeth cleaning for $30.00us to ear cleaning along with a checkup at Farmacia Similares for $7.00us (I still surf and sometimes need to get wax build up along with sand removed that comes with surfing cold waterr) I recently had to have both oxygen sensors replaced on my Subaru. To purchase them I had to drive back into the states to El Cajon via Tecate, I try to limit going back for obvious reasons, and had them installed locally and they charged this blond haired, hazel eyed and most definitely a gringo $300 pesos, that's around $18.00us!! It probably would have cheaper if I spoke better spanish. Mucha suerte desde la hermosa Ensenada!

Wow I did not realize with all the poverty in Mexico that there was welfare for the poor . Somewhat confused , or maybe depends on the city ?
@MovingToMexiCo
@MovingToMexiCo 8 ай бұрын
Apparently there are some welfare programs in Mexico. Although I’m not familiar with them or how much of an impact they have made. Some of the key welfare programs in Mexico include: 1. **Prospera (previously known as Oportunidades)**: This program provides conditional cash transfers to low-income families. It focuses on health, education, and nutrition, requiring beneficiaries to meet certain conditions, such as ensuring their children attend school and receive regular health check-ups. 2. **Seguro Popular**: This is a health insurance program aimed at providing access to healthcare for those who are not covered by the traditional social security system. It seeks to reduce the financial burden of medical expenses on low-income families. 3. **Adultos Mayores**: This program provides financial support to elderly citizens who do not receive a pension from the formal social security system. It aims to improve the quality of life for senior citizens living in poverty. 4. **Programa de Apoyo Alimentario**: This program offers food assistance to families in extreme poverty, ensuring they have access to basic nutrition. 5. **Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro**: This program offers training and job opportunities to young people between the ages of 18 and 29 who are not in school or working. It aims to reduce youth unemployment and improve their skills and employability. These programs are part of Mexico's broader efforts to tackle poverty and inequality, although their effectiveness and reach have been subjects of ongoing debate and evaluation.

The healthcare education and standards are among the best in the world. The doctors and health care workers are excellent. I have had two surgeries here in Canada and I was treated extremely well by doctors, nurses and supportive staff. The problem is the delivery of free unlimited healthcare for all (whether they have a job or not) is unsustainable due a larger amount of healthcare dollars are wasted. Giving patients the option of paying for private care as in Mexico would help!
